And you think they are in exactly the same condition as when they had an empire? Because they aren't.
Never said they were.

You don't really know Meso American history all that well. Clearly. Chichen Itza was abandoned in the 1400's. Well before the Conquistadors came.
There's a lot of lowland on the Eastcoast. Look what the storm surge from Sandy did to the Tri-State area. New York Harbor has already proposed a storm surge barrier. It's possible they only have about 25 or 30 years to get it built.Agreed. But it certainly is one of the main ones. That's the point.
I used Cali as an example only, and because they are in the middle of a multiyear drought, it also represents a HUGE population that is already water-stressed. Hopefully that was clear.
The point being that mass migrations will be a huge cost.
Maybe. We know how climate forcings work in no small way because we see what happens with things like Pinatubo. Some of the estimates for climate sensitivity to various forcings have been confirmed because of that.
Yes, something horrible could happen to plunge us into some new climatic regime, but that doesn't change the fact that we know we are largely responsible for the warming we see now.
So would nuclear war on a large scale. Doesn't change the fact that AGW is real and something we are largely responsible for. Should we just hope that we can destroy ourselves with a nuclear winter rather than address climate change?
Because they want to deal with the issues as they are and not just hope for a massive volcano to erupt and destroy most of the middle part of the US?
The main cause was conquest and internal wars. Disease took a major toll as well (some indian tribes became EXTINCT due to disease and internal wars).Agreed. But it certainly is one of the main ones. That's the point.
A multiyear drought with flooding....right. Oh...people still live in the SDTC (formerly California). They haven't yet managed to escape the dictatorship prevalent there.I used Cali as an example only, and because they are in the middle of a multiyear drought, it also represents a HUGE population that is already water-stressed. Hopefully that was clear.
Already happening. People are fleeing the SDTC because of the tyranny. The point being that mass migrations will be a huge cost.
No such thing. Buzzword fallacy.Maybe. We know how climate forcings
Are you actually trying to say climate controls volcanic eruptions????? Too funny!work in no small way because we see what happens with things like Pinatubo.
No such thing. Buzzword fallacy. Some of the estimates for climate sensitivity
No such thing. Buzzword fallacy.to various forcings
You can't confirm a buzzword.have been confirmed because of that.
Climate is not a regime.Yes, something horrible could happen to plunge us into some new climatic regime,
What warming? It is not possible to measure the temperature of the Earth. How can we be responsible for something that can't be measured????but that doesn't change the fact that we know we are largely responsible for the warming we see now.
So we should 'save the planet' by conducting a nuclear war???So would nuclear war on a large scale.
As real as your God.Doesn't change the fact that AGW is real
I am not responsible for your God.and something we are largely responsible for.
Define 'climate change'. Buzzword fallacy. You seem to be advocating a 'nuclear winter' as the solution! Which is it, dude?Should we just hope that we can destroy ourselves with a nuclear winter rather than address climate change?
Uh...have you looked at the location of the Yellowstone caldera? Perhaps you may have noticed the Mammoth Lakes caldera?Because they want to deal with the issues as they are and not just hope for a massive volcano to erupt and destroy most of the middle part of the US?
Mayan is a proper noun. It is capitalized. Yes, you DID say the Mayan people were gone. You're a liar.I never said mayan people were gone.
Nope. It was decimated by internal wars and by the Spanish.I said their civilization was decimated by the multiyear droughts.
Attempted proof by circular (fundamentalism). This is not a controversial statement.
Omniscience fallacy. Most historians agree that it is a combination of some internal strife, poor civic planning and a multidecadal drought.
You seem to not have any clear thought. You keep trying to change your story.I thought that was kind of clear. My apologies if it wasn't.
They didn't.
It's not abandoned.

I never deviated from the topic of the Maya civilization, which is flourishing and is comprised of many wonderful people. I thought that was kind of clear. My apologies if it wasn't.I never said mayan people were gone. I said their civilization was decimated by the multiyear droughts.

This is not a controversial statement. All travelers to Guatemala agree, except perhaps for some blind people, that the Maya civilization is right there in front of them . It is a combination of some great food, good music, great people and beautiful countryside that keeps the Maya going strong.
I bought a hat from some Maya in Chichicastenango. Great place. I recommend you visit sometime.
It's not abandoned.
Hold on. If a place is inundated with tourists, is it abandoned? You are joking, right?
Hold on. If a place is inundated with tourists, is it abandoned?
Is the Eiffel Tower abandoned? Is Chichen Itza abandoned?
Both of them are trolling us, or they're too stupid to understand where all this extreme weather is coming from. Are you incapable of understanding the topic? I'm sorry. But this is absurd.

Sorry I wasted your time. I see this is pointless to further discuss any of this with you.
Too late. Already happened.
Storm surges happen all the time in New York city. Perhaps you forgot the real big one from a passing tropical storm that flooded large sections of the subway system, made a mess out of New Jersey and washed the Coney Island coaster out to sea.
Well, that's storms for you.
Did you know that a storm surge is not sea level?
BTW, JFK airport is 12 ft ASL. BFI (on the west coast) is 21 ft ASL. ATL (on the east coast) is 1024 ft ASL. SFO (on the west coast) is 13 ft ASL. ALL of these airports are still in operation. ALL of them are major airports.
Nope. Your point was that AGW religion is somehow real, and that Climate Change is somehow more than just your WACKY religious dogma. You went so far as to claim that your deity "Climate Change" is actually the one responsible for the Maya civilization changing, not the passage of time. The point being that mass migrations will be a huge cost.
You can't even define a "forcing" such that it doesn't violate physics much less describe how one works. We know how climate forcings work
The only ones "confirming" climate sensitivity estimates are straightjacketed in rubber rooms. Some of the estimates for climate sensitivity to various forcings have been confirmed
There is no such thing as a climate regime, except maybe the Democrat party and their ilk.Yes, something horrible could happen to plunge us into some new climatic regime,
Who is the "we" who claims to be "seeing" warming? I bet they're the same ones wearing the straightjackets in the rubber rooms.that doesn't change the fact that we know we are largely responsible for the warming we see now.
How would nuclear war alter the earth's distance from the sun or alter the intensity of the sun's output? So would nuclear war on a large scale.
AGW is not real. It is a WACKY religion that targets the stupid, the undereducated, the scientifically illiterate and the mathematically incompetent for indoctrination into the faith and for bending over furniture for a thrusting Marxist reeducation.Doesn't change the fact that AGW is real
Who are the "we" who are somehow responsible for the earth's distance from the sun and for the intensity of the solar output?and something we are largely responsible for.
Yes, please destroy yourselves in the quickest way possible. That way we won't have to listen to you preach your WACKY religion.Should we just hope that we can destroy ourselves with a nuclear winter rather than address climate change?
Well at least you know when you lost.
Both of them are trolling us, or they're too stupid to understand where all this extreme weather is coming from.
