Gun question.

People that want to talk accurately about guns make a difference between magazines and clips. It is like calling a AR 15 an assault rifle when it is not. The other day I heard the semi auto pistol that the Chinese guy shot up the Chinese dance studio called an assault pistol. WTF? is that?

But to make an issue when someone uses outdated or inaccurate term just causes animosity.
when the war was over, many veterans went home and kept calling anything and everything that loads ammunition into a firearm a “clip.” It is believed that from there, the misnomer became widely used, and the term “clip” has been mistakenly used to describe a detachable magazine ever since.Mar 4, 2022

The topic is the AR-15 gun design. Keep your religions out of it.

All bullets can shatter and or tumble when it enters the body and hits bone.
I took a pathology course by the Fort Worth ME Peerwani Nizam MD . He had the most interesting autopsy slides on gun shot wounds. You would be amazed at what bullets can do in the body.

It is amazing isn't it.

I wish they'd show pictures of the victims of the many, many, many mass shootings. I bet if America actually SAW what a bullet can do to a human body (especially a little kid...in Uvalde some parents had to use DNA to identify their children!) it would change the gun debate overnight.

So does arguing over purist minutia. I use "magazine" because that's the military nomenclature, but accept "clip"....just like I use "rifle" but accept "gun" as in the title. :)

And if women actually SAW the pieces of a baby torn apart in a abortion it would change that debate also. BTW a whole lot more humans die by abortions than by mass shootings. The suction cannula is the most dangerous weapon in the country.

I did an OB GYN rotation at Fort Hood. I was rotating with a OB GYN resident that was called to the ER for a female soldier with profuse vaginal bleeding. She had an abortion 2-3 days prior. When we examined her she had a leg in her cervical os. We had to take her to surgery for a D&C to be sure the abortionist did not leave any other body parts in her uterus.

Actually you are wrong. Larger caliber hand guns produce a higher KE but the 223 has a velocity that produces a large shockwave. The shockwave is what causes the most damage.
Only idiots like you shoot their mouth off without knowledge of the subject.
AR-15 is just another semi-automatic weapon that "looks skeery."

A Glock can do anything an AR-15 can.

Not blow off someone's head from 200 yards.

I advise all Americans to own a good sniper scoped, .30 cal+ hunting rifle and be proficient with it. A good home self-defense weapon is a 12 ga. pump backed up by a decent semi-auto handgun. Total cost; under $2000 not counting ammo...which I recommend buying in bulk...compare prices but to watch the shipping costs. Look for coupons and discounts.
