Herd Immunity Proven To Be A Failed Approach To Corona

Trump had the power to shut down the economy because the Reds all did whatever he told them to. No red would cross him. He had the senate and his incredible powers. He had the threat of primarying anyone who stood up to him.
The Dems did not have the power to shut the economy.

Have I been typing in Spanish lol?

Again, the governors put out all the mandates with social distancing, closed businesses within their state and etc. In WV, we’d drive the interstate and see the big lighted sign that said ‘all unnecessary travel restricted by order of *the governor*. This was a year ago during the actual lockdown.

Even now, before entering many stores they have the sign in the window about masking before entering *by order of the governor*. Not one word about Biden.

The only edict that came down nationally was the one that applied to hospitals and clinics. The CDC had the brilliant idea to shut down elective procedures throughout the country *regardless* of whether the state or region was being affected in any meaningful way by the virus at the time. That was the one that put me and tens of thousands of other healthcare workers out of work. Not all of us came back.

And at the time, I was saying it was a bad idea and I was right.

But the medical bureaucracy owned the lockdown and its effects on the economy. Period. It’s hard to blame the governors for following their recommendations. Trump was effectively a by-stander. In fact *no other* President would have done differently because we/they were being told millions of people were going to die and etc.

Hence, Biden inherited the Fauci economy.

Hello and welcome goat,

Before I reply, I'd like to bring your attention to the way I approach JPP. This is a rough place, which sadly drives many many good people away. But I like the volume of activity and the fact that despite all the nastiness one can still find mature polite conversation. My approach is aggressive use of the Ignore feature. I've made a lot of friends here, but my Ignore List is huge (by design.) I actually announced upon arrival here that I fully intended to build a massive Ignore List and anybody who felt like telling me off should promptly do so, that I might quickly build that. It worked! And it has been great for me. Anybody who gets personal with me goes right on the list, and I am happy to scroll past place-holders rather than read immature dysfunctional garbage. Saves me time in getting to the good stuff. Just avoid talking about me and we'll probably be just fine. Here's my Ignore Policy:

Personal Ignore Policy PIP: I like civil discourse. I will give you all the respect in the world if you respect me. Mouth off to me, or express overt racism, you will be PERMANENTLY Ignore Listed. Zero tolerance. No exceptions. I'll never read a word you write, even if quoted by another, nor respond to you, nor participate in your threads. ... Ignore the shallow. Cherish the thoughtful. Long Live Civil Discourse, Mutual Respect, and Good Debate! ps: Feel free to adopt my PIP. It works well.

If that's agreeable then I hope we have plenty of great discussions. If not, then we probably won't be talking long.

Biden is far from a functioning adult. He was forced on us by the undemocratic powers like Hillary and Obama who work for citigroup. Do a search on Obama's 29-acer estate on Martha's Vineyard. Obama betrayed the world for 29 acers of dirt. After receiving his nobel peace prize, Obama ran out of bombs while killing 90% innocent Syrians with drone strikes. I'm not very good with math but I think that means only 10% of the 'bad guys' were killed.

Obama knew a pandemic was coming before H1N1. GWB was warned about an upcoming pandemic. We can go back to Ebola and AIDS to realize the US should've been preparing for something big. The US government only cares about power so a few million human deaths is population control. Those people in nursing homes were costing money we needed to increase the militarized police budge. Why would a government of the people need militarized police?

It's good to chat with you, PoliTalker. How should I address you?

Well, I'm a liberal Democrat who is fiscally conservative, and so far you've done fine. I was independent until last year. The decline of the Republican Party pushed me to change my designation to Democrat. I don't embrace everything about the Democratic Party, but I joined because the power in this country lies with the political parties. (I am a Bernie fan - he showed how far you get without big money backing.) I am fully aware Biden is owned by the big banks. If Democratic leaders have gotten rich, it should come as no big surprise. It pretty much happens to all successful politicians. I am not a fan of big money in politics and I don't like it, but I also recognize that there are far too few good people in politics and it is good to see the good ones rewarded for giving up their personal lives to serve our nation. It's a job I would not want. Talented people can make a lot more money in the private sector and they don't have to have their lives picked apart by the press, so it's hard to get good people to take public office.

I was no fan of Obama's over-use of drones.

Obama wrote in 'The Audacity Of Hope' that when you enter politics, no matter how altruistic your intentions are, you quickly get educated about the need to raise money and how you are then manipulated. If you want to rise and acquire the power to make positive change, you have to make the donors happy. That is a delicate balance of morals between what you would like to do and what you are forced to do. It's a tough game to play and stay clean. We do need to change that, but that kind of change cannot happen quickly. It has to come from the bottom up. It will never come from the top down.

The process of ridding our government of big money influence would take years, and depends on enough people grasping the overall picture. It could take longer than many of us alive today will live to see it. But it is a fight worth pursuing:

People who choose the public sector, especially public servants, are mediocre at best. Most politicians are pathological egotists who you are willing to vote for time after time. Me on the other hand is a flawed humane person who learns something new everyday, yet you admit to have zero tolerance for. You have to be willing to compromise with me if I unintentionally hurt your feelings. People (authority) have been trying to polish me my entire life.

You ignored both of my questions but only one is important. Why would a government of the people need militarized police? The answer is simple; the people in power know what's coming. They have beaten down the masses to the point of revolt. Odds are it will happen in our lifetime. White suburbia has to be willing to side with humanity when the streets are filled with justifiably angry souls.

Hello goat,

Me on the other hand is a flawed humane person who learns something new everyday, yet you admit to have zero tolerance for. You have to be willing to compromise with me if I unintentionally hurt your feelings. People (authority) have been trying to polish me my entire life.

I don't know if I have zero tolerance for you or not. So far you haven't disrespected me or made anything personal. We've been talking about politics, not me. I don't come here to be the subject of discussion. I just want to make sure that anybody new understands I will not tolerate being abused. I actively shut that down as soon as it begins, for good reason.

I do take a hard line on internet abuse. I'm sure I place some on Ignore who really might have ended up being good chat partners. But I have to maintain the hard line image that creates. I don't give much latitude on disrespect. I cut people off at the first instance of it. The reason I do that is basic. If someone insults me one time, that's on them. If it happens a second time, that's on me for not cutting them off after they already showed me they will insult me.

And the thing is, I am spoiled. I have no problem spoiling myself in this way. This site is vast. No way I want to spend enough time here to keep up with every conversation. So, if I am only going to get a small slice of the talk here, I want it to be of the highest caliber.

That's why I do this unusual thing of being very open and out front about my approach here. I want everybody to understand there are no second chances. As soon as I get the idea somebody doesn't respect me, they get poofed. I have no interest in being part of an enabler/abuser relationship. Insult me once, shame on the other person, insult me twice, shame on me.

I don't claim to be perfect. I make mistakes. I try to analyze very carefully if I should place a name on Ignore, each time I do it. Sometimes it's an easy choice. Other times I anguish over it. Because I know: Once I do that, I am never undoing it. It's permanent.

The permanent part of it works because that makes it final. Forever is a long time. I want people to understand how serious I am about this. If they don't care to bother with my concerns then I am happy to disassociate from them.

I don't want to get into your personal issues. But I will share one aspect of it. Part of my decision depends on how long I have been chatting with a person. People who have shown me for a long time in regular chat that they respect me, if they mess up and go a little too far, I might PM them and try to work it out, maybe give them another chance. Maybe even make them a friend out of it. But if somebody just showed up here and does the same exact thing? I am usually inclined to just cut it off right there before it turns into a thing. If I have no history with them, then I have no reason to cut any slack.

You wondered how to address me. Just use my screen name here. Or PT works if that's easier. People who have modified my name to make fun or as a slam? Those types are already on the Ignore List. Rewriting my posts is another quick way on.

As for militarized police. Yeah, that's a toughie. There are times when the response is too great, and there are other times, as we all saw on January 6th, when they lacked what they needed to get the job done. I don't like the trend of the MIC forcing unneeded weapons into the armed forces, and then the forces selling off their used stuff to the local police. That sets up a scenario where we can see too much force being used. Policing is delicate. Obviously more work needs to be done to optimize policing.

It's a bit troubling, your talk about 'white suburbia.' I don't think neighborhoods should be segregated. I am glad to see vast mixing of races and ethnicity. Diversity makes America great. We need to be moving more towards racial acceptance than a race war. I do not agree that anything is inevitable. I don't see a revolt coming at all. What I see is a bunch of disgruntled malcontents who have been itching for a show-down with government, and they got their desire on Jan 6th. That was attention-getting, but really, compared to the population of the USA? That was very very few people. No, I don't see any revolution coming.

What I see is that the most motivated people who want to fight government all came out on Jan 6th, and now they are being systematically rounded up. Last I heard, there have been 453 arrests. And they are not done. As fast as they are rounded up and made to understand the serious trouble they are in, they flip on their friends. Or the FBI digs and finds them. We might eventually see 1000 arrests.

So there goes the revolution. The most likely people to take an active part are all being taken out of circulation as we speak. And anybody else who is thinking of more violence has to be watching all of that and wondering if they want to have their 15 minutes of fame followed by the rest of their life paying for it.

We're getting off subject here.

Obviously the idea of natural herd immunity is compromised by the fact that the virus can mutate before herd occurs, and that just resets the clock. Vaccines are the answer.

Do you agree that most people need to get vaccinated in order to finish the job and get our country back to normal?

The pathetic twat put me on ignore my first day here.
Badge of honor. I respect that. I tried to be “polite” to that passive aggressive twat for a couple of months when she responded to me (don’t think I ever replied to her) until I couldn’t take it anymore.

Vaccines only widen the divide between conformists and free will. A culture war has been front and center for some time now. Who do you think should be held accountable for endless wars, militarized police, and kids in cages? It certainly couldn't be the powerless in the inner cities. Someone is enabling our immoral leaders. There are well known writers and activists who call-out the white middle class for being complacent/complicit in how we got to where we are today.

No one wants to give up their good paying job with a defense contractor, mass surveillance, big oil, or big pharma. Biden's claim to build back better means prove your vaccine is up to date for the most recent virus so we can go back to a new and improved imperialism. The odds of me convincing you of this is slim to none but the revolt is right around the corner for you to see yourself. We live in a nation filled with people who want to move forward and have proven they are willing to fight for it.

Just wondering what the intended prejudice was supposed to be timed with.

Lets just call it "reinvented rainbow fagot catholic mafia stigmata." Uaknow, for short. Probably spot on with that. I mean, how much more obvious you want sumshit to be? Like a self funding cannibal ponzi scam to make everyone touch the same objects as a half million other people at a contact tracing checkpoint?

You're right. You won't convince me that we are on the verge of a revolt. I think we are about as divided as we are going to get right now, and we may see the country begin pulling back together. United we stand. People can clearly see that division is not working. I have nothing personally against Trump supporters. I just think they made a poor choice. I also think most of them are basically good people who want the same things I want, a vibrant economy, the chance to succeed and a secure community to build a nice life in.

Vaccines:

Interesting.

You don't think vaccines have had any effect on the coronavirus numbers precipitously dropping in the USA?

No crisis goes to waste. Vaccines are already being used to control us by chipping away at more of our rights. We have yet to see how many vaccines will be enough to keep a job.

So far so good, eh. Btw, I'm funny too, so don't poof me yet.

Humor is good. Everybody needs a laugh sometimes. So far I have no reason to poof you. Who knows? Maybe we could end up being friends... Political views don't matter in that. Respect does.

I don't really see how humankind can progress without a gradual loss of rights. The more computing power we develop, the more advanced our communications become, the more interconnected we become, the more of our individuality we give up. I don't really like it. I resist it. But to hold that back would be like trying to hold back a tornado. It's useless. It's coming on. It's going to go where it wants, and we are powerless to control it.

Have you heard about what China is doing? They have this patriotism app. Users get points for doing 'patriotic' things (as deemed by the government.) You tweet something good about the country, you get some points. Tweet something bad, you lose points. Make the right friends, get points. Have the wrong friends, lose points. Everybody gets a score. High scores get perks, better jobs, advancement. The lowest scores get arrested.

Talk about the government controlling your life, well there it is. Direct control. And they track everybody. Where is the phone going? Who is the individual associating with? There are cameras everywhere. Big brother knows what you are doing.

We're going in the same direction here. And we can't really hold it back. We are already tracked. It's not always the government doing it, but the government doesn't need to. We have capitalism to do that. The government can access the files any time it wants to. Just show reasonable cause and get a court order. Oh, sure, you can opt out. But if you do then you have to give up a lot of modern conveniences. Like having a phone or a car. Yes, the cars are now being tracked, too. A new car communicates with the auto-maker whether you want it to or not. It records everything you do. Where you go. How fast you went there. Whether or not you stopped at all the stop signs. How long you spent at your destination. Whether or not somebody was in the passenger seat.

I don't know whether to be more concerned about what our government is doing or our big corporations. And the corporations are just keeping up with one another. It's not like there is some big master plot or scheme. It's just where technology is leading us.

You could live in a cabin off grid, drop out of society if you want to opt out. But if you want to be a part of things, this is what you opt into.

Meanwhile, biology isn't just sitting around stagnant. This virus popped onto the scene and messed us all up, messed up our ability to mix and mingle, screwed up our lives. Killing us. We don't like that. We want it gone. Vaccines are how we do that. Anybody has a better idea, everyone wants to hear it. There's a lot of talk, but so far it's just talk. Miracle cures? If they are out there we would be using them. They don't exist. It's the vaccines or nothing.

So, we face this big challenge to get enough of us vaccinated. It won't work if we don't get enough participation. Everybody can't just opt out and let everybody else do it. It's time to step up and be a part of the solution. This is how we do it. We each have to take that chance.

Do we want our lives back or not.

This is how we do it.

And maybe, just maybe, we will find a bit of unity in all this. This is something that ties us all together. You know, besides all being of the same DNA and existing on the same tiny blue speck of a fragile planet in the vast expanse of emptiness known as the universe.

That would be cool. More unity. It could be a turning point.

Humanity could use that.

I talk with people who deny our culture war all the time. Most refuse to accept that there's more than one culture in the US. Their house on a cul-de-sac and good paying job with a defense contractor causes illusory superiority. Take your vaccine and don't make waves so we can get back to pillaging every inch of the globe. They close their eyes to the destitute and despair right here in the wealthiest nation in history.

No one will ever accept responsibility for how we got here, even as they see the lack of opportunity for their children and grandchildren.

Step outside...you'll see we're all moving right along, safely, steadily, very smoothly....getting "our lives back".... Try it you might like it....

Apart from flying, my life hasn't changed. Again, forcing people to conform only creates more anarchists. The world is already turning to China for stability because the US has become a caricature of a Greek tragedy. I like your optimism but market analysts are predicting a systemic breakdown. I don't know if I could survive without wifi.

Hello goat,

Apart from flying, my life hasn't changed. Again, forcing people to conform only creates more anarchists.

Nazis forced people to do things. We give people choices. You want to do something? Abide by the rules. Rules change according to the needs of society. That's understandable.

Individuals are not allowed to force their views upon others. Individuals do not get to make up their own rules. I used to like flying back when flying was better. Now, I would be happier on a train. I now try to avoid flying at all.

Some market analysts are regularly predicting a systemic breakdown. And still the investments keep pouring in.

It's called Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media is a 1988 book by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky. It shows how our government owned media allows people to think they are making the choice to go to war or take a vaccine but in reality it's being forced on us by branding dissent as un-American. True patriots see the patriot act as a repeal of habeas corpus and the bill of rights.

Young folk are fed up with the lack of opportunity. The gig economy is coming to an end because zoomers want more out of life than driving a car to pay for the room they rent or share with a stranger. Can we agree that this is what we've become as a society?
