holyroller conservatives cheer coulters use of the word 'faggot"

Damo,

Let me know when Randi Rhodes is invited as a keynote speaker, for important and nationally televised Democratic meetings and conventions.

I'm not aware that Rhodes is held out as a spokesperson for the Democratic party. I don't think I've ever seen her give keynote speeches at Democratic meetings.
I know. Once again, that her remarks remind me of the other doesn't mean that I think she is as famous as the other...

Why do you keep thinking that I'm going to change my mind or something about the fact that I think Coulter's remarks were crude? Or are you trying to convince yourself that I thought they were all-mighty all-righty?

What is your point here?

Tell me how many people Mr. Maher reaches, and tell me some of his remarks, like the Alito one above, aren't crude of themselves.

So... Is your argument here that it's all good just because she personally doesn't speak at funding events? It seems that Code Pink girls wanted to hear her speak at such an event. That she hasn't yet reached the same fame level doesn't change that she too wished for another's death in her remark and the fact that it reminded me of another remark by somebody else.

Excuse me – we’re women, ok? You know what we do with men like you who refer to us as “girls”? We make them wear pink tutus and dance for us.

And Codepink is not considered part of the mainstream by any stretch. Yes, some of my “women” did want her, but I handled that the way I handle everything I disagree with. “Yeah, I’m not doing that, next”.

Did you know that some people call me “controlling”? No idea where they get that from.

You have just inadvertantly trained me to make sure I always use girls when addressing anybody about the Codepink group...

Thanks! :D

I didn't say that they were mainstream. My point was she was rising, that groups do want her to help them.

The more she makes appearances such as that, which I know she didn't, the more she has a shot at mainstream.

Once again, what part of, "I never said she was as famous" means that I think they equate in fame?

Anyway, this is pointless. I made a point that Coulter's remarks reminded me of some of her remarks. That was all. I never said anything other than that. I didn't say that because they did Coulter's remarks were other than a crude joke. I didn't say or think what you seem to think I have.

Here's a nice quote from her:

What makes me laugh about this one is what is she really complaining about? The guy is nice? She'd prefer for him to be a jerk? What is her beef other than she wanted to compare him to a serial killer (of course that must be better than comparing him to a homosexual using crude terms)...

There's more.

I can't remember how many times she wished that Bush and Cheney would "just die"...

It's like Bill Maher saying that Alito needs to bomb an abortion clinic.

The statements are made to shock people. Randi and Maher are made from much the same cloth.

Do you have a link, to a credible non-partisan (aka, non rightwing) source for that Randi Rhodes link?

Right, leftwingers collect outrageous remarks from Rhandi. Do you have a credible conservative link for the outrageous comments of Rush?

You can listen to her archived shows and get it.

I'm just not seeing the equivalency here.

First, Bill Maher ain't a "Dem". He's a Libertarian. He voted for Bob dole, for crying out loud.

Second, Ann Coulter is held up as a leading figure in the republican party, and is given the opportunity to give keynote speeches at important republican events.

I don't see left-wing bomb throwers given that kind of credibility in the Democratic Party. I'm not aware that Michael Moore or Randi Rhodes have ever been invited to give keynote addresses at prominent Democratic party functions.

Okay, we've all seen the coulter video.

but, we have to take your word for it, that the rhodes comments you posted are accurate, and in context.

Gotcha ;)

Once again, I said "reminded me of" not "are equal to" I made a sideline remark that you guys want to make into some huge issue or to mean that I think it is okay because "you guys do it too".

Rubbish. The remarks reminded me of remarks by Rhodes. That is all.

Oh for Chrissakes. I listen to the fricking show. They don't need to be taken out of context. She's a shock-jock just like Coulter. I already stated they are not equal in fame, the press just doesn't cover Rhodes like they would cover Coulter or Rush.

Randi Rhodes can make my ears bleed. She's a bomb-thrower allright.

Just looking for verification of the statement you posted. Rightwing websites have a history of inaccurracy. Leftwing sites do too.

I agree with that one...

One thing you left out Damo…Rhandi Rhodes isn’t being introduced to audiences by Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, or Barak Obama.

Ann Coulter was introduced by Mitt Romney, and he said that her speaking there was “a good thing”.

When John Kerry made some comment about celebrities being the heart of America or whatever, the entire right wing machine went into orgasmic “outraged” overtime.

If your leaders are going to embrace her, her words will be hung around their necks.

A person is known by those he/she associates with....

My daddy taught me that when I was a small child....

No, I didn't leave that out. Above I spoke about it when another put forward the idea that because Coulter is more famous her remarks somehow can't resemble Rhode's remarks.

It doesn't work, Darla. You are arguing a strawman. I never said that it was okay or even equivalent. I said that they reminded me of remarks from her, and from Maher for that matter. His are more subtle usually, but they remind me of such.

I know I would have been one of the ones going "Whoooo" eyes widened as I thought... "Woah... That's going to hurt when it hits the news!"

I wouldn't want her around any campaign of mine.
