how much for a big mac if MickyDs paid employees a living wage

McDonald's has increased shareholder dividends for 25 consecutive years...McDonald's operates over 34,000 restaurants worldwide, employing more than 1.7 million people, and nearly one in eight workers in the U.S. have at some time been employed by McDonald's.

Looks like they have no trouble attracting workers.

Exploiting their workers, so they can pay dividends.

Looks like plenty of workers are willing to be exploited, doesn't it?

Wonder how many also own stock?

Desperate people will do desperate things, even taking a low paying McDonad's job. It is a second job or requires a seond job.

Uh-oh, we've got Mott's favorite word in here!

""This drop in opportunities for young people isn't just anecdotal. It's been measured empirically. UC Irvine economist David Neumark recently teamed up with Federal Reserve economist William Wascher to summarize the research on the minimum wage from the last two decades. They found that 85 percent of the most credible studies pointed to job loss for less-experienced teens following a wage hike.""

Or maybe you can attract and keep a superior quality employee. What quality of people do you think you'd be working with at your job if they paid minimum wage?

Are you saying people who work at fast food joints are inferior quality employees? If so, then why do they deserve more pay?

And by exploiting their workers you mean you think they don't pay them enough?

Even McDonald's agrees they don't pay them enough - remember the "budget" McDonald's came up with for their employees? That required more income in a month than a job at McDonald's pays? Think that shows McD knows they don't pay their workers enough.

What I don't understand; is if the liberals have such a good idea, regarding how much employees should be paid, then why haven't they started any businesses and done this.

If it's such a great thing, then they would cause the other businesses to fold; because they would have no employees, seeing as how they all quit and went to work for the liberals.

They really seem to have a low opinion of fast food workers. One seemed to suggest they are 'low quality workers' since existing wages don't attract high quality workers.
