how much for a big mac if MickyDs paid employees a living wage

On Monday, The Huffington Post published a story entitled "Doubling McDonald's Salaries Would Cause Your Big Mac To Cost Just 68¢ More." HuffPost has since learned that the research used as the basis of the story contains significant errors that cast doubts on its claims. This story has replaced the one originally published in this space.

So...what's the actual numbers?

so do you think micky Ds could pay these people three more dollars an hour?

do you understand that raising the minimum wage is completely doable and will spurn on the economy

got powned?

gee did you hear that one while standing in front of you locker before English class and after the assembly to prepair the 8th graders for high school

How about the FACT that huff Po did what you would never see FOX do which to admit a mistake and discuss it like adults.

hop back on roves belt you tool

Now doubling the pay of micky Ds workers wouldn't take the company down but may be too much of a burden on the franchises.

How about the CORP raises the pay up say three dollars.

Then the corp can give their franchisees a break on what they have to pay the CORP huh?

they would still be making a killing in profit huh

how will it do that Desh? Wage inflation simply leads to higher costs of goods/services. It does not increase the purchasing power of the dollar.

So...what's the actual numbers?

So instead of going up by 68 cents it would go up by $1.28. Still not a huge increase; 40 cents more than the original number.

And if they doubled the wages - or let's say a 75% increase so it doesn't go up quite as much - they might get employees who either are a little better or who give a bit more of a damn, so when you have a special order it actually comes out right.

How about just three bucks.

how much would that add to a fucking burger?

How about if Corporate gave their franchises a BREAK in how much they have to hand over to corporate?

they would still be fucking raking it in

the RIGHT wants the entire burden on the poor so they can get the CEOs huge bonuses.

yea REAL Americans huh

So their number was off by almost 60% and that is not disturbing? ... and the cost of the Big Mac would be increasing by over 25%

Raise the wages that much and the low skilled workers are going to take the jobs and the unskilled workers will not have jobs. In a loose labor market that is what would happen. If it was a tight labor market, then the unskilled have more leverage. There are far too many people out of jobs right now for the unskilled to demand more wages. What they need to do is develop a skill set.
