I haven't reviewed the statistics on it (if available). But I deduce that airliner cockpit automation hasn't enhanced safety as much as expected.
There are human truck drivers that have gone over a million miles without a collision.
I'll reserve judgment on whether such gimmicks as autonomous braking will actually promote safety.
