I’m changing my party affiliation

Yes, finding a way to decrease violent crime is quite racist, isn’t it?

I don't think we want him on our side if he thinks what is happening with Republicans is positive. They have no platform and no legislative agenda. They are literally the party of no ideas.
Better to have no ideas than bad ones . The positive change I see is that they’re growing balls and finally standing up to the extremism of the left.
But I agree with you. You don’t want me in your party if I were to vote for such heathens as Martin O’Malley, Paul Tsongas , or Andrew Yang.

They’re finally standing up to wokeness, the new extreme form of “political correctness “.
After Romney lost the Republican leaders got together, wringing their hands saying they had to be more “inclusive “. Then Trump came along and blew that up, vaporized it.
And look at the result. More blacks voting Republican than ever. More hispanics than ever.

While losing the popular vote (again) and doubling Hillary's popular vote margin (from 2% to 4%).

Republicans biggest gains have been in the states. While some attribute that to redistricting it does not explain state-wide races like governor and senator.

What changes did Republicans make in "wokeness"?

I see. I'd rather not vote in the primary then if that's the case. Registering for a party kind of negates the whole "secret ballot" thing in my mind.

The only changes I've seen in the (R) party is their steadfast allegiance to trumpism. As Lefty pointed out, they have no platform, no principles, no ideas, no solutions.

In many areas there is a dominant party that is going to win the general election. Not being able to vote in that party's primary gives you no vote in who wins that office.

It is still secret ballot because nobody knows how you voted in the general election. You might have voted in the Republican primary and Democratic in the general election.

Stop WOKE Act DeSantis has initiated. And he is wildly popular in Florida.
Nothing yet but I see a positive change on the horizon.

How do you stop something that doesn't exist? I have been asking that question over and over. Nobody answered.

It exists, it is just somewhat nebulous.

Here is an example at UCLA law school:

It exists . I can give you many links but not on my phone, too much trouble. In answer to your question you can PREVENT something that doesn’t exist.

Been a card carrying Libertarian for about 23 years now and haven’t voted for a winner in a national election during that time.
I will register as a democrat or a Republican but can’t decide.
If democrat I could vote for the most qualified candidates and help out the party. E.g., I liked Tsongas back in the day. When I was a kid too young to vote I liked Eugene McCarthy, the anti-war candidate. O’Malley was far better than hrc (who wasn’t?). Maybe woulda voted for him over Johnson had he been the nominee. Or I could hurt the party and vote for the worst possible but dems already are very consistent in doing that without my help.
If I register as a Republican I can be part of a real and positive change that’s seems to be occurring within the party.
What to do? :dunno:

Why are you leaving Libertarians?

The legal theory exists in law schools.

Until someone takes trump out, there will be no change to the Republican party. In fact, it changes for the worse every day.

The party fears him, so I don't think any intelligent members of the party will be able to do a thing.

Your state is pretty Red anyway, so another Blue vote might make a change if you bring friends.

What change do you think you see in the Republican party? And why register for any of them? Why not just vote your conscience, vote for the best candidate no matter what letter comes after his/her name?
NY has closed primaries. Not sure about Alaska.

Your choice is between a Democrat party that is becoming a party of the Left and a Republican party that at the moment is a bit schizophrenic because of Trump but is normally somewhere just Left of Center.

The Left has a long and thoroughly documented history of fucking EVERYTHING they touch up and causing untold woe and misery to hundreds of millions, even billions, worldwide. With the Left in charge in the US, America as it was intended by the founders is dead and finished. At least with the Republicans we can put that off for a maybe as much as another 50 to 100 years.
You are seeing the Left in action in the US today and they don't even have full control. Open borders, increasing poverty, shortages of goods, the lowest labor participation rates in history, more rules regulations, rampant crime, increasing black markets, inflation, and every other negative a society could not want. But they're all there and in just a year of having Biden in office.
Your registration really doesn't matter as much as who you vote for. If you intend to vote Progressive Leftist, then you are voting to doom the nation and yourself to a life of deprivation and misery even as the top 1 or 2% continue to live in opulence.
Only Republicans have crashed the economy in the last 40 years.

You're nuts.
