The entire economy of our country revolves around the airline industry, passengers flying for pleasure and business as well as commerce delivered each day by air. A shutdown in this industry would put our economy into a depression.

Not today or tomorrow, but each day there are more TSA agents, more ATC controllers not showing up for work. If this continues, and it will its only a matter of another couple of weeks before there is a total shutdown. There is only so long that people can work without a paycheck.

It would take weeks to properly train new TSA employees, and then again who is going to pay them. I am sure people would line up to take a job that wouldn't come with a pay check, and it could take years to replace the entire ACT controller force. All that time our economy is going down the drain and quickly. Close to 40% of the worlds commerce is delivered by air- $6 trillion worth of products. Donald Trump is an ignorant, classless, clueless boor. He has no political skills at all...let alone "keen" ones. He essentially is a coach using a new playbook...and it is working only because it is new. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are calling his bluff right now...and I say he caves.

Yeah, he will allow the Senate Republicans to take the hit...but his presidency is finished no matter what. If you think they will "take the hit" and not pay him back...you are a fool.

There are only two ways this plays out in my opinion

1) Democrats cave and give him his $5 billion - unlikely
2) The Party of Failure in the Senate caves to media pressure and passes a bill and then overrides a veto.

#2 is the most likely scenario in my view and even though it will be seen as a loss by the media and leftists, Trump will have won. I have to admit I am surprised that the GOP in the Senate hasn't caved yet. I figured they would have by now.

My guess is a variation on #2 may well be the way Trump caves...but whether he caves by caving outright or by being unable to prevent his party from caving in for him...IT WILL STILL BE CAVING.

He is finished...and Pelosi and Schumer allowed him to finish himself.

Now people who were wondering why Schumer was barely able to contain laughter during that Oval Office meeting...know why he was having that problem. Trump was shooting himself in both feet.
