I'm just to far north of the Mason/Dixon line
I'm a lot closer but still don't have the curiosity to try something that looks like paste.

Thus the reason she stressed adding salt.. The flavor is mild, salt enhances.. Cheese helps, it is naturally salty..I tried them once but they weren't very good, like tasteless school paste or something. So the cheese helps?
There's a guy in town who sells hotdogs like that. Don't know if they have to have a license and inspections, but probably so.
Isn't the raw foods/raw milk thing strange? Why would you want to risk getting sick? "Oh, but it's natural!" Well, having a life expectancy of 40-something, and dying from septicemia from an infected cut, or from tetanus or rabies was natural too. No thanks.
I think most places have regulations but enforcement??There's a guy in town who sells hotdogs like that. Don't know if they have to have a license and inspections, but probably so.
Either ranch, blue cheese or sweet onion.

Same thing, as is Polenta, grits is the same thing..
Have you ever had hominy?? I think it is something eaten more in the mid-west..

I had it a few times, it's not one of my favorites either.
I can't remember but I am sure it had to grow on me as well..... Prob had it almost every day for 2-3 years living in NOLA..
I admit after leaving New Orleans I prob didn't eat Red Beans N rice, Blkeye peas or grits for @ least 5 years & to this day I am still sick of CON-bread & hot links..lol
And po boys. Only been down there once. Did not like the food at all. NOLA is a cool place though. Mr. Owl's youngest sister and family moved down to Houma a couple of years ago; her husband got a job there at a museum. They love it! Their house is on a good-sized pond, and they have their own gator. I asked her the other day what they named him. She said "Oh shit." lol
We drove to Fremont, had great Chinese!Pork Chow Mein,Egg Fu Yung,Fried Rice, and Egg Roll.
Bit chilly, came home and took a nap!
We did see some corn planted in Fremont!
LOL... Nice name...
I have only been through there but that use to be swamp but in a few years it will ocean front property..
Going down there is like going back in time.. Great fishing.. What kinda museum??
So there's hope for the sweet corn this year after all? They do produce some short-season varieties so maybe that's what they're going with?
Man, that Chinese sure sounds good.
We went to the town-wide rummage sales this morning, had lunch in town, then took a nap too. Absolutely beautiful day!
There soil is a bit sandy,so it drys faster than here.
But no matter what Ohio is only growing a third of the usual crop.
Has anyone tried growing their own shrooms? I got wine cap mushroom spawn today via Fedex that I ordered last month. Going to cultivate it under the deck where it will get dappled light and good air circulation. Also got black oyster mushroom spawn to try out!

Yep, that seems close but it should be ok unless it gets cold early this year..
