Have you forgotten the WTC bombing? The raid on Pearl Harbor? The national confiscation of gold by FDR? WW2? The Great Depression (essentially caused by FDR)? The Trail of Tears? The widespread arson and looting of cities by Antifa and BLM? The boarding up of cities everywhere due to the fear mongering Democrats have caused over Covid?

And you think a bunch of twits getting into the Capitol building and taking selfies of themselves and causing a little vandalism is the darkest day?????

None of those things - not even the ones that actually happened as you describe, lol - was an attack on the fundamentals of the political system.

What Trump has been doing since he lost the 2020 election, including the January 6 "riot" which he fomented, is exactly that - an attack on the fundamentals of the political system. Nothing like it has happened in modern times, if ever.

And for what, other than salving his grotesque ego? This man is poison. He should never have gotten anywhere near the center of power. I doubt if he will be held to account, because that doesn't happen to ex-presidents. But we must at least make sure that it never happens again.

There was an election in 2020 and TRUMP LOST IT.

Nixon could have claimed he was "robbed" in the 1960 election. He may well have been. But did he go into a sulk for years afterwards, telling his supporters that he - and they - had been robbed by massive fraud?

No. Nixon was no saint, but he conceded for the good of the country. AND THAT'S WHAT TRUMP SHOULD HAVE DONE.
