DeSantis just won reelection. It would make him look dishonest to run now. He'll wait until late 2023 or early 2024 after seeing which way the winds are blowing.

I'd say he's favored to win the nomination, but the nation isn't ready for another dictator. He's a farce who is tripling down on ridiculous anti gay, anti non white policies that won't play well in swing states.

I'm guessing the anti-American Trumper rhetoric will die down after multiple trials and prison sentences between now and Spring 2024.

DeSantis is still my best guess for both winning the nomination and the WH in November 2024. Who do the Democrats have that can beat him?

That said, I think the Democrats will take back the House and keep the Senate after the next two years of Republican fuck ups.

It's clear that the House will try to decimate the economy via nonsensical budget proposals that will go nowhere in the Senate. There's a slight chance that just enough sane House Republicans will join with Dems, but said bills will never be brought to the floor.

A la Boehner. That will give them hope to unseat Biden, but it's a little early.

Rhetoric notwithstanding, DeSantis has a laundry list of legislation that he rammed through that isn't going away. No matter his toned down rhetoric.

The Republican nutjobs may want to decimate the economy, but most Republicans need a good economy to fund their reelection efforts.

Biden won't be running in 2024. If he does, he'll lose. Who do the Democrats have besides an 82-year-old who will probably die in office if reelected?

He should have been Biden's VP, but they needed to win S.Carolina I suppose.

As you keep saying about Harris, Buttigieg would have been a natural to take over for Biden.
