Some day you'll tell me what your sui generis definitions are.
Easy. Art has nothing to do with objective or subjective truth. Your turn.
Some day you'll tell me what your sui generis definitions are.
What quality specifically?
Easy. Art has nothing to do with objective or subjective truth. Your turn.
The quality of being well made.
That's not a definition.
Are you thinking that TECHNICAL expertise is the key? How do you explain Rothko?
So no technical details? Just "quality"?
Subjective what? People are subjects. So everything is subjective. If you follow that logic.
Does "well made" literally mean nothing to you?! First time you heard the concept?
Different defintion. Try hitting up the dictionary:
"based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions. Contrasted with objective."
I honestly thought you were going to tell me something about the technical quality.
I really don't know what technical expertise means. And Rothko is a good artist.
Why, I never said I was going to do that.
Persons have feelings. Does that bother you? Seriously.
So it's not technique you are talking about. Sounds like personal preference. That's subjective.
Let's stick with the words and their definitions.

Ok. Again, what does subjective or objective mean in relation to art. I see a painting. Without eyes or a body I would not see.
You tell me what "technique" means. To me it just means the way something is made.
"based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions. Contrasted with objective."
This is pretty simple.
