Yeah, when we hear about things like trends in teen birth rates, crime, divorce, gas prices, inflation...we always want to blame some particular policy or politician when it is usually more complex.
People will blame crime on incarceration policies, bail, gun laws, etc. But if crime is increasing or decreasing, we usually find that same trend occurring in other states with different policies. Teen birth rates have been declining for years and people attribute that to sex education or lack thereof, abstinence... But, again, those same trends are occurring in every state regardless of policies.

lets explore......what state.....we can compare statistics and see how they stack up against some of the really sick blue places like Chicago and that city in California with the prosecutor who doesn't prosecute......

You have to compare states or cities. Murder should look at the state since it is under state law and prosecutors are enforcing state law.
I am in Texas.
Most of those trends started before Obama--in the early 1990s and have continued after he left office. Anyone can afford a condom, so it is not lack of affordable birth control. Most unwanted pregnancies choose not to use contraception.
Government idiots are not usually responsible for societal trends. If government could fix our problems we would have done so years ago.

Counties too. Agreed on the reasoning about differing state laws, prosecutors, LEOs, legislators, etc. There's also other factors driving violent crime such as poverty, unemployment, drugs, etc.

dude, do you really think that refusing to even charge people with shoplifting, that releasing people who have committed violent assault without bond, that letting people enter the country claiming asylum and releasing them telling them that sometime in the next five to ten years they will have a hearing to see if they are eligible will have no effect on societal trends?........government may not usually be responsible, but irresponsible government certainly is........
