Never....She dropped out of that "war" as I recall... That's what she said...Have you ever even once called out your friends for using the c word. Why would you expect better treatment?

Have you ever heard TOP call anyone the C word?Liberal women on JPP were called the "c" word long before you or the Amazon group came here, and we were told to "put on our big girl panties" and take it, or "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
I thought the Latin word "for all" was "omnibus." Sola means alone.I'm not talking about now really... Though much of their trappings are the same. I am talking about the time Lutheran hammered that message onto the church doors...
His belief that religion was "for all" (sola)... They translated the Bible into the language of the people, stopped having Priests be the only path to reading and understanding the Bible... However the trappings remained largely the same. Priests, give them confessions, stand up sit down services (in the language of the people instead of Latin)... The rote teaching... Much remained the same.
You're just dumb. If the teaching was that that people are saved by grace, faith, scripture, Christ and the glory of God, it would make sense. It's using the word "alone" with each one of these that's the inconsistency. If you can be saved by GRACE ALONE, why do you need the other four?
IOW it's not the word itself, it's who is saying it. You are such a hypocrite.Have you ever heard TOP call anyone the C word?
I specifically asked you about Sola Scripta or do you believe in tradition over scripture? The WORD alone? Then no need for five solas.
Correct. It doesn't say "faith alone," "hope alone," or "love alone."
Says the people that follow the pope's catechism. The WORD alone? Then no need for five solas.
So people that freely use that vile invective should be sheltered from it being used on them?IOW it's not the word itself, it's who is saying it. You are such a hypocrite.
You're being deliberately obtuse or willfully ignorant. Which is it? You've been moving the goalposts with every comment. Furthermore, you've been 100% critical of Catholicism, yet apparently you think questioning any other religion is off limits.I specifically asked you about Sola Scripta or do you believe in tradition over scripture?
The Catholics had a "lock" on interpreting the Bible until the printing press came along.Says the people that follow the pope's catechism.
Now that Catholics also teach in the same language of the people I would wonder if it had been that way during Luther's time would there even BE a Lutheran church? His main objection seemed to be that the word is the only thing God left us so it should be available to all (the first of the Solas, Sola Scriptura)...
that verse is not the only verse that speaks to that.Correct. It doesn't say "faith alone," "hope alone," or "love alone."
I never called anyone the "c" word. If you have issues with TOW, take it up with her, but stop being so two-faced. If it's okay for men to say it, it's okay for women, too.So people that freely use that vile invective should be sheltered from it being used on them?
What about the Eastern Orthodox? The Catholics had a "lock" on interpreting the Bible until the printing press came along.
Nope. Anyone that ignores the 4th Commandment isn't following God's word. It just so happens that the Catholic church started that tradition. And since almost all protestants can trace their roots back to the Catholic Church they took false teachings with them. You're being deliberately obtuse or willfully ignorant. Which is it? You've been moving the goalposts with every comment. Furthermore, you've been 100% critical of Catholicism, yet apparently you think questioning any other religion is off limits.
Well the Roman Catholics said they didn't have the right interpretation didn't they. What about the Eastern Orthodox?
No, I just define it differently. I am working with the definition of another so I am quoting.Does the term "fundie" annoy you?
So it isn't OK to call anyone the C word especially if they don't use the C word. So is it OK for TOW or NHB to call TOP the C word?I never called anyone the "c" word. If you have issues with TOW, take it up with her, but stop being so two-faced. If it's okay for men to say it, it's okay for women, too.
You know I'm talking about the word "alone" specifically, not the teachings.that verse is not the only verse that speaks to that.
"no man comes to the father but by Me"... is the basis for "Faith Alone", you must have Faith in Christ to receive his Grace... there is no "hope alone" portion of the Solas...
- Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone): The Bible is the sole and final authority for Christian faith and practice.
- Sola Fide (Faith Alone): Salvation is received through faith alone, not by works.
- Sola Gratia (Grace Alone): Salvation is by God’s grace alone, an unmerited gift.
- Solus Christus (Christ Alone): Jesus Christ is the only mediator and savior for humanity.
- Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone): All glory is due to God alone for salvation and all aspects of life.
Having been a Catholic for a long time, I can attest to the fact that lots of other Christians are trained to hate them. The typical, same old idiots in this thread are just repeating garbage they were told. The day of the Sabbath, for example, doesn't matter to a true Christian nearly as much as behaving like a Christian every day of the week. That should go without saying, yet here we are.I just don't like all the lies some of these people keep braying. I get it that people are critical, especially after all the pedo priests were exposed, because I'm one of them. But this minutiae about the day of the Sabbath, or the 4th commandment, is just missing the forest for the trees.
