Paul Draws 5000!

Try to be a little less defensive. No one was attacking you, or any group you may be a part of. it was a generic statement, covering bases, and the only partisan tilt was an implied reference to Flag-Mongers.

Read it for what it said, not what you suspect it might have been implying.

I'm asking (and if you do not have an answer please clearly say so in your next post):

What does it mean to sanctify the Constitution? A concrete example would be nice. You made your point with flag burning as sanctification but you seem stuck on this one.

And I'm not being defensive. I enjoy debating with you because you tend to argue against a position than a person.

The Flag is more than just a piece of cloth. It is a symbol...but it isn't anything more than that (and it doesn't need to be, for rational folks). Likewise, The Constitution is a living example of The Social Contract actualized, to me, one of the most beautiful examples of human restraint and enlightenment, but no more than that.

One can sanctify The Constitution just as much as one can sanctify The Flag.

Be serious.

ANYTHING can be sanctified.
The Social Contract which is the US Constitution was created so that change to that contract was possible. The premise that it is somehow "sacred" because people expect the government to act within those confines of that which they swear to uphold is a preposterous strawman created because it is easy to defeat. Of course it isn't "sacred", but it is the contract that all of our government is sworn to uphold. I prefer to hold them to it and keep my essential freedoms.

Once again, I presented The Constitution as not being sacred as a means to prevent those dishonest fucks who cruise this board from pretending that I do as such, as I strongly STRESS The Constitution on a near daily basis?

There. That's what I've been trying to say. But G is smarter than me.

LoL so basically you just put it in there to cover your own ass from criticism and "sanctifying the Constitution" doesn't really mean anything?

That's what I thought. Thanks.

Once again, refrain from acting as if I have perpetrated any logical fallacy. I SIMPLY included The Constitution among those things that should not be held as sacred in our government, to prevent dishonest right-wing flag-mongerers from claiming as such, knowing that I scream about The Constitution on a regular basis. It is not my fault that certain folks who ALSO scream about the Constitution took it as a personal attack, and continue to assert that I have done as such, even though i have repeatedly explained, and explicitly detailed, otherwise.

Read what I say, not what you think I mean.

As I have explicitly stated, multiple times, I put it in there to prevent dishonest flag- worshippers from pretending that my strong statements pertaining to The Constitution somehow is equivalent to their sanctifying the flag.

It was clear. I explained it multiple times. Quit trying to make me the bad guy here. I didn't jump to conclusions. Think about who did.

Who claim's it "as such?"

This is bullshit, and you both know it. Beefy, you jumped to a conclusion, and you know it. Warren, you hastily jumped into the wrong side of this argument, and YOU know it.

I really should NOT have to be defending myself in this scenario. I'd be okay with it if either of you were still confused about what I meant. Neither of you are.

He's the only candidate is he?

In fact, so does Dennis Kucinich, you are supporting him I presume? Or are you just blowing shit around to hear yourself talk about "the liberals"?

Wow, you can't read very well, can you? I said "leave Iraq immediately AND change our foreign policy for the better". Kucinich is not a bad guy, I'm just not a fan of the type of bigger government he espouses. However, Kucinich wants to "wage peace" and start a "Dept. of Peace". Peace does not require a government department, in fact it requires far less empire building and world cop nonsense that we have been engaging in since 1900 (read: less government). So, I don't see his plan as changing our foreign policy for the better. Moreover, I think it's a reasonable assertion to point out that Kucinich faces greater obstacles in gaining the nomination than Ron Paul, who still faces rather steep odds as it is. At least Ron Paul has a considerable movement behind him on the web, nationwide meet-up groups, as well as over $8 million in the bank and probably a lot more to come before the primaries begin.

Oh, and where the fuck do you get off calling Ron Paul "unstable"?!? He's a medical doctor who has delivered over 4,000 babies as well as a father, grandfather, and devoted husband. Your assertion reveals self-evaluation would be beneficial. Take some time to relax each day and collect your thoughts - it helps to curb apoplectic episodes.
