Putin fears NATO

Gather a world coalition and pledge support and arm Ukraine when we started seeing a large build up of forces. Also put a list of sanctions that would be immediately in place if Putin attacked Ukraine. None of this you had better not of something might happen to you. More this WILL happen to you.

I guess when your "news" consists solely of media that says what you want to hear, you miss out on a lot. Apparently you're unaware that we have a world coalition, we have been supplying Ukraine with advanced weaponry, and we have levied harsh sanctions on Russia/Putin. Putin is not an idiot like your #MalignantMango Trump. He knew full well what results from the West he'd get if he invaded, and did it anyways.

But yeah sure, it's all Biden's fault.

I don't think that it works so well anymore. Even back in the heart of the Iron Curtain days, I recall young Russians paying small fortunes for black market blue jeans because they wanted to look as cool as young Brits and young Americans. They don't see us as "corrupt" and evil as their leaders wish they would. They want lifestyles like we have -- the money and freedom to travel, material things that make life easier, fulfilling careers not chosen for them, etc.
too right you are

I think Russians under the age of 40, particularly in cities, do not have this visceral sense of the need for manning the barricades of a fortress Russia against the threat of the decadent West.

There is definitely a culture war going on in Russia.

Given the obvious superiority of NATO weapons, technology, and organizational doctrine, it's not surprising that Putin and his shattered army fear provoking NATO.

Just look at yourself, you pious,tub-thumping fool.

They used to use force to prevent citizens from traveling out of the country, for fear that they'd be seduced by the material charms of the free world. Now they have the Internet, and people can see for themselves what life in other countries is like. That genie is not going back in the bottle.

for sure.

One of the real improvements they had in the Putin era is freedom of travel and a kind of moderate economic prosperity to enjoy it. Professional class Russians routinely vacationed in Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, and sent their children to European universities.

Even with the restrictions in place now, Putin will not be able to recreate the 1960s.

You also said it was pure fantasy that Putin would invade Ukraine.

A lot of your MAGA buddies have been screaming that we should stop supporting Ukraine because it might make Putin mad, and Putin has an intimidating, formidable army.

Just search the term "don't poke the Russian bear" on this forum from January to March of this year.

The fact is Putin's army is a paper tiger, it has been shattered, and there is no need for MAGA losers to tell us we should be intimidated by Putin
wait the threat is about Putin is not really a threat to NATO- so why do we act like Ukraine security is important to NATO? nevermind the USA..it's laughable if it wasn't for the fact Ukraine is our new money pit

Biden never trusted Putin, Zelensky is the one who asked Biden to wait, Russia wasn’t going to attack and Ukraine could handle it.

Yes I know that. But we were discussing what MIGHT have deterred the invasion . We didn't start arming Ukraine or assembling a coalition until AFTER the invasion started why would we? Biden wanted to give Zelenskyy a ride out of the country instead. Where would Ukraine be today if Zelenskyy had accepted Biden's offer to run? Only after Ukraine shamed us by fighting for their freedom instead of rolling over and Zelenskyy running did we start arming Ukraine. Well except for the 210 Javelins that Trump sent Ukraine.

Kremlin calls Finland's NATO move a threat to Russia

Russia threatens to deploy nuclear warheads on Finland's border

NATO expansion has been chief among Putin’s security concerns and was a contributing factor as to why he launched his invasion of Ukraine, which had previously looked to join the 30-member alliance.
You think Putin really thinks NATO is a real threat to nuclear armed Russia or is it a threat against his expansionist dreams?

It's in Europe and USA's interest to not have a war monger and notorious war criminal consistently invading European countries.
