Question for pro-choicers

Conservatives think the after 9 months in the womb it is time for the parents to take over the baby's care and not turn it over to the government.

And what if the mother didn't want to BE a parent, but was forced to -- by the government?

If she doesn't want to get preggers, then she should refrain from vaginal sex too. She should get a man who eats pussy.

So pretty much any idea you don't like.

Then why were you being one sided in your sexism and initially trying to say the guy had the responsibility??

Is that what I said or just your assumption??

This is a hypothetical, obviously, because its not realistic.

Lets assume that upon conception, there is no developmental stage of the fetus. It's just "poof" and then there is a fully formed baby in the womb right off the bat. However, the baby would still need to be in the womb for 9 months before birth.

Should abortion still be allowed in these cases?

If so, why. If not, why not?

Grind are you old enough to remember back alley, coat hanger abortions?
Making abortion illegal doesn't end abortion!
Did illegal pot,stop pot smoking?

I didn't say that. I said that the guy has a choice in the matter in response to someone saying it's not entirely fair for the guy, a point I agreed with.

This is what happens when you jump in the middle of a conversation specifically to try to disagree with someone.

Then why just mention the guy, instead of making it both gender inclusive.

This is what happens when you try to appear to be non-biased and your true feelings are revealed, by what you post.

Exactly. Men who are against abortion should be keeping it in their pants, and instructing their sons to do likewise.

sex is a natural part of life and this doesn't seem to be a realistic solution. Don't you think we can do better than "abstain from all sex" vs. "or risk being stuck with a kid for the rest of your life" because the woman wouldn't abort a blastocyst?"

i'm actually pro-abortion, I don't play gotcha games on JPP, my questions are genuine because even though I think one way, I like to know how other people think and how their ideology is crafted.

Not many pro-choicers have spoken up in this thread yet, but I have found it interesting so far that the pro-choicers that have spoken up admit to believing that a womans sovreignty over her body is not unlimited. I find that very interesting and a bit surprising.

Personally if I could get pregant, I am trying to think of what my attitude would be to an effective parasite growing inside me, and I am pretty sure I would support blending up it's brains if need be. I am consistent on these issues, I believe in gun rights even if it means the death of some kids in a school shooting, and thus I also support abotions even if it means we have to crack some baby skulls. Though I am open to counter arguments on that front as my ideas on this are not fully formed.

you are going to end up with a society where the sex toy industry is going to explode. In another 20 years are so there probably are going to be realistic sex robots and a lot of men are just going to completely check out. I don't think it's unreasonable to allow some leeway for men to have a "financial abortion"

Of course the concern is a man would just let a woman be pregnant for 9 months and then just peace the fu ck out. That's not acceptable either. But I do believe it doesn't have to be an all or nothing thing and there could be reasonable accommodations for both parties. This is how we can get both sides to win.
