Blacks don't simply vote for black faces, nor do we celebrate any black face in front of us. Colin Powell and Condalezza Rice are perfect examples that we have our own criteria for who and what should be celebrated. We expect more from the black face than we do of others.

The decision between Obama and Clinton by black voters is balanced between the pragmatic and the emotional. Obama keeps pushing blacks towards the pragmatic decision when he doesn't step up and step out of the "politician" mode. The issue of the injustice of the American Just-Us System may not be of importance to the rest of America, but it's near the top of the list among blacks. Jena 6 was a perfect opportunity for Obama to step up and speak directly to the issue of racial injustice .. PROVEN and DOCUMENTED racial injustice .. but he offered a weak press release instead at a time when he had the stage.

Sure, we understand he's playing politics and has to try to appease whires who support him .. but shouldn't those whites also understand the injustice of locking away countless blacks for drugs when in fact, the overwhelming number of illegal drug users, sellers, importers, and producers of illegal drugs in America are white .. as much as 72%? Shouldn't those whites who support him also be able to recognize the injustice of the PROVEN and DOCUMENTED disparities in arrests, sentencing, and probation?

Shouldn't all Americans be concerned that America has become the greatest prison nation in all the world .. far surpassing China, Russia, India, North Korea, Iran, and all the totaltitarian nations we love to hate?

Obama has the mike .. shouldn't he be talking about it? If he's going to be just another politician who will shy away from the truth, then why should he or anyone else expect him to be viewed by blacks as just another politician? If he's going to be just another, why not support Clinton's wife, a view I don't share, but understand. Bill Clinton remains the most popular president in history to African-Americans, another view I don't share but understand. The expectation is that Bill will keep Hillary involved in issues important to us, especially given that he's freed from the constraints of being the president himself.

The expectation that blacks votre for and support anyone black comes from white America .. not from us.

Also, those who read black media would know that many expect that Obama will be Hillary's pick for VP, which could actually lead a still racist America into having a black president 8 years from now. If Obama does good work and Hillary duplicates any of Bill's successes .. OF WHICH THERE WERE MANY .. Obama would be in the perfect spot to slide into the big chair.

It's a pragmatic view and approach to accomplishing what America will have to be led into doing.

Additionally, African-Americans are THE most antiwar demographic in America. We never bought into the war and have been consistently against it from the beginning. Had America listened to us there would be hundreds of thousands of innocent people still alive. Thus, when Obama waffled on attacking Iran, then said he could support an attack on Iran, his stock dropped and many began to re-consider the pragmatic view, even though Hillary is the Xena the War Queen, it's a hell of a lot better than considering what judges will be picked by Guiliani who is Satan himself, or Milt "the religion of blacks didn't become human until 1969" Romney .. or what wars they will start.

Can I preface my comments with some simple mathematics?

Been here for almost 400 years, relatively free for 42 years. That's it .. the conclusions are inescaplabe.

However, after nearly 400 years of demonic oppresion and the degrading of black people, "black pride" was essential to self-preservation. It was not about how ugly you are, but how powerfully equal I am.
