Reality check on electric cars

Then show us where the oil fill cap is in an EV motor.

Just settle it once and for all. Then make sure to let Tesla know because they say:

"Tesla vehicles require no traditional oil changes"
It's a bolt, not a cap. Tesla recommends changing the motor oil at the 1st year of service, then about every 100,000 miles after that.
Tesla already knows, and it's in their maintenance manual. They perform this service for you when you take it into the dealer for service.

Why do EV owners fear oil changes or coolant or any other fluids their car requires?? For that matter, why do EV owners fear oil changes or any other fluids required by gasoline cars?

Tesla and oil changes? No issue.

Tesla and software problems? No end.

Tesla's programming staff has finally gotten their chance to shine...

Define "traditional oil change".

EVs do not require oil which is necessary to lubricate the number of moving parts in a combustion engine. EVs are powered by electric motors, not the oil mandatory engines.” -Kia (HERE)

"Electric vehicles don’t have internal combustion engines, which mean they lack many of the moving parts that require lubrication via motor oil. Therefore, electric cars do not need traditional oil changes." -VH Autos

"EVs don’t use engine oil" - Hertz Auto

OMG! I didn't know that

Yup. It's an electric motor. Very few moving parts.

The primary maintenance is to take it in to have various system checks, tires, brakes, windshield wiper fluid. That sort of stuff. It's actually a pretty cool experience having an EV.

You've already been told that Jiffy Lubes (or any ordinary 'garage') doesn't have the proper equipment to service EVs in such a manner. It must be done at the dealer.

Hey, Bocephus, what does JIFFY LUBE SAY? (I've highlighted the important bits)

JiffyLube said:
If switching to an EV, you can say goodbye to:

Tune-ups
Oil changes
Cooling system flushes
Transmission servicing
Replacing the air filter, spark plugs, and drive belts

So far, while discussing maintenance on electric cars, we have focused on what you don’t have to do. But what maintenance does an electric car need? A few services EV drivers can expect include:

Tire rotation
Checking pressure in tires
Cabin air filter replacement
Wiper blade replacement
Washer fluid top off

Seriously you guys are hilarious!
