Reality check on electric cars

Luddites are idiots....but then they think the Donner Party could have made their own gasoline. LOL

Does it matter when it drives itself while you look up porn on your smartphone?

No car (except certain prototypes) drives itself.
Self driving cars can be any type of power plant. It doesn't have to be an electric car.

If you are letting your Tesla drive itself, you are placing other vehicles and danger and breaking the law. Tesla itself says not to do this.

Last CES I was at, where they were showing off self driving cars and autonomous robots, a self driving car ran over an autonomous robot. Was the robot jaywalking? Was the car taking murderous revenge on competition?
In this case, of course, it only resulted in one group of programmers shouting at another group of programmers on who's fault it was.

Now imaging a real case, where a self driving car kills a pedestrian. There are no drivers at fault. The only place the lawsuit can go is right back to the car manufacturer. Invest in it if you want to, I wouldn't touch that industry with a 100 ft pole.

Who the fuck drives coast to coast? Fly.

Won't work if you've got a bunch of stuff to haul. I don't have to wear a mask while I drive either.
If I don't have a bunch of stuff to haul, I just fly my own plane. I don't mess with the airlines....even when they're flying. I guess you haven't heard of Southwest Airlines on general strike, and the same with air traffic controllers that's spreading.

Seems they don't want to conform to the mask and vaccination mandates. I really don't blame them.

Facts are irrelevant in America.

One must take his/her side's official position or become an outcast without a faction to call home.

The consistency is pretty amazing across the forum.

Even with my disdain for wokeness and relative indifference to gun control, my opinions run pretty consistent with my side.

The most incoherent people are the independents and centrists.
They have feelings, not clear opinions, and tend to be afflicted with terminal optimism that falls outside the realm of sanity.

Try learning English. It really does work better.

The horses know the way home from town.

What kind of plane do you have? How many flight hours?

Horses are actually very hard on the environment. They are slow, and they are not practical in cities because their exhaust is literally shit.

The point being missed is that you're the one advocating for horses by dissing electric cars in favor of gasoline cars.

Trump is against electric cars so all the Trumpers are against them too. They don't need a logical reason for it.

Bigotry and lies.

Trump doesn't mind the electric car. He understands they are expensive and have certain limitations, but he is not against them.
Some conservatives have no problem with the electric car, others absolutely abhor it, just because the left is overselling them so much.

The electric car has it's place, but it's not in over the road applications or business vehicle applications, where the vehicle must drive all day.

You seem sold on the electric car. Very well, go buy one. Don't mandate what others want to buy though.

Generally true, assuming the town isn't too far from home. In many ways, they are just like big dogs (that eat hay instead of meat). Like dogs, they are pretty good at this, but they can and do get lost from time to time.

I have four. I generally like to fly in my Cessna 150. It may be slow, the view is glorious, especially in the Northwest. I have that airplane rigged for instrument flight capability as well. We get a lot of low ceilings around here!
Two are ultralights. One of those is rigged as an amphibious craft.
The last is a high speed homebuilt, capable of speeds up to 200mph. It's not rigged for instrument flight yet though. Working on that.

I've logged about 1200 hours in various aircraft (not including the ultralights), including time in Cessna, Piper, Taylorcraft, and some 737s' and 757's as well.

You have already asked this question, and I have already answered it.
