Reality check on electric cars

ARe you really this stupid? Who in god's name charges on a 110 or 120???

Do you go out and drill a hole in the ground every time you want to fuel your gasoline car, dipshit???

How stupid are you actually?

Watch the video, he also uses 240v which takes 24 hours to fullly charge the vehicle,. but thanks for watching at least part of the viseo.

I've got a 220V charging station in my home. Now, I'm not as stupid as having a Hummer EV but it doens't take 24 hours to charge my car. I get 300 miles on a full charge.

You guys are so fucking easily duped. You have to be the dumbest lot imaginable

You don't like EVS...GOOD! Don't get one, ya whiney fuckups.

Another bad thing about Tesla--in particular--is you have next to ZERO Right to Repair.

You may not be familiar with this concept, but some companies void their warranties, can even void leases, etc., if you don't use their approved dealers and repair shops with your vehicle. Tesla is one of these.

This means you can't take your Tesla to whoever you want to get it fixed. You can't even get many of the parts to fix it unless you are an authorized repair shop. Since Tesla charges a licensing fee to companies and shops wanting to fix their vehicles and that license doesn't come cheap, plus you have to keep paying to continue to have it.

The result is that anything needing repair on a Tesla costs an exorbitant amount. Even tires cost about 2 to 4 times what they do for other vehicles.

Of course, there are many owners that want to be able to take their vehicle where they want rather than deal with Tesla or a authorized dealer. Tesla is fighting this.

Costly Tesla Fix Shows Why 'Right to Repair' Matters
https://getjerry.com/insights/costly-tesla-fix-shows-right-to-repair-matters

So, after buying your overpriced POS, poorly made (worst quality of any car company) Tesla you get the privilege of paying many times more for repairing it than it should cost because Tesla won't let you use the mechanic or company of your choice freely. And, worse, because of all that intrusive computer-hooked-to-the-internet in Tesla's, they can find out PDQ that you did "unauthorized" repairs or modifications to your car and then shut you out of it remotely.

If Tesla is the model for the future of automobiles, the future is totally fucked!

LOL. Were you howling when America's farmers had to fight to regain "right to repair"? Surely you don't think this particularly nasty outgrowth of late stage capitalism is unique to Tesla!

No, it was pioneered by the very same companies you folks on the Right lionize and fetishize with your trickle down BS and your constant fear baiting over "socialism". LOL.

Yes, John Deere, among other tractor manufacturers did the same thing. Only John Deere didn't have a way to render their machinery inoperable by remote control. Tesla does and can. It's not unique to Tesla but it is another argument against buying one.

Oh, you knowing that means you are an older poster on the board using a new handle. What? Last one get banned?

And are you of the opinion that somehow "electric cars" engender this kind of behavior? Or do you generally hate capitalism? Because at the end of the day, this is what the market will bear. No one likes it, and indeed, it's a GREAT case for government mandates, but you guys on the Right hate those things. So I guess you are back to bitching about something you support. Huh.

I'm the same poster I have always been. Just fuck off.

natural human greed engenders this kind of behavior.

corporations like built in dependencies. Vendor lock in.

corporations aren't perfect. everyone has smelly shit.

the market won't bare this fraud for long.

You make my point.

corporations aren't perfect. everyone has smelly shit.

No one is saying otherwise...in point of fact the same people that the GOP toady to with massive support and tax cuts turn around do this sort of thing because they have no conscience.

the market won't bare this fraud for long.

I think you will be sadly surprised at exactly how much worse it will get before it gets better...if it ever does.

When companies can go to a "subscription" service for literally everything it is non-stop profit taking at our expense. And that's the ideal endstate for a good Capitalist.

so you're against the objectives of klaus schwab and the world economic forum.

good.

maybe we can work together.

Not particularly. What does engender it is a combination of greed and monopoly thinking. That is what Tesla is doing across the board.

Actually the above statement is incorrect. Batteries do produce electricity--ONE TIME. That is, by design they have a charge stored in the difference between the potential of the anode and cathode. The electrolyte in it allows the charge to flow from anode to cathode when a load is applied. What you do when you "charge" a battery is really re-charge it. That is, you reverse the chemical process and get the charge back on the anode to allow the battery to discharge again.

It is the recharging process that requires outside power from wherever to make a battery work more than one time. Some batteries are inherently designed to work only one time and cannot be recharged, like dry cell batteries.
