Where does any dictionary say a democracy must have a chief executive? And that that office must be elected by the entire nation? None of those were in those posted definitions.

Almost all the nations you listed as democracies are parliamentary systems in which the voters do not elect the chief executive. Reread those definitions.

Yes, but when they vote they know who the party leader is of that party and if they don't like that person they can vote for the other party's candidate for Parliament to give them the majority.

In Britain the party can run a candidate for Parliament in a district they choose where he might have the best chance. He does not have to a resident of that area. They don't have to be residents of the House district in the U. S., either, but primaries pick the party nominee rather than the party organization. Parties are much stronger compared to the U. S.

That is only partly true...... They have resources, billions @ their disposal to persuade the public.. Not everyone has alternative options.

They can attempt to persuade the public. We are not so helpless that we have to buy their products. We want those products, they are not being forced on us. If they did, we would have everything advertised on TV.

Too many corporations go bankrupt every year to have successfully persuaded the public---Since 1980 an average of 44,594 companies per year have declared bankruptcy.
