I want to know: if immunity IS under a year...what does that do to herd immunity through natural immunity?

And if you're relying on mainly natural immunity - what information do you have that natural immunity lasts long enough to make that a viable option?

The OP point: if the vaccines acted like vaccines, we should be at or at least very near herd immunity. But since they aren’t very effective at stopping transmission we are plugging along like it’s still 2020. It’s a different subject but it’s contributing to vax hesitancy: if more people thought they’d be DONE with Covid after the vax more people would take it.

But you have Biden out there saying ‘the vaccinated need protected from the unvaccinated’. Wtf? That’s absurd. The vax’d should be IMMUNE and they aren’t.

Smoke this in your pipe: maybe the real heroes are the unvaccinated. They lay their lives on the line by catching the damn bug and since their 20X better immunity behaves more like actual immunity they are doing more to protect society than their ‘still-problematic’ vaccinated neighbors.

They are not heroes at all. They are fools who spread the bug and get others killed needlessly.

President Unity has us heading for a battle over vaccinating public school kids.

I’ve pointed out before that some/many parents can be 100% pro vax democrats but STILL say hell no when it comes to vaccinating their kids. As well they should since *there is no* scientific justification for it.

Just like with acquired immunity. There’s nothing sciencey about pretending acquired immunity doesn’t exist with respect to mandates. Why doesn’t President Unity offer an opt-out of the vax mandates for people who show acquired immunity? But that would mean actually doing something sensible and placing the same emphasis on antibody testing as they do PCR testing.

That is far from true. Various studies show wildly different answers to that question, so nothing is known for sure. Part of the problem is defining what is "superior". Is "superior" not being able to get Covid-19 a month later, or six months later? Will you include suffers from long Covid in the one month later?

There is nothing to act on. People who get natural immunity have whatever benefits it provides... NATURALLY... WITHOUT US ACTING. It is there in the word: "natural".

So how do you know something Fauci doesn’t? The reason it’s still an open question is obvious: it hasn’t been ‘long’ yet. We aren’t two years into this thing. Just like we have *no idea* about what affects the vax can have on the fetus when the gestational period is nine fricking months and that’s roughly how long the vaccines have been out.

Why would I? It may not exist - but there are boosters.

As far as we know right now, natural immunity is strong for 5 months. After that, it seems to start to diminish. Estimates are that it really lasts under a year.

Of all of the mystifying things that are associated w/ the reaction to COVID, vaccines becoming a "liberal" thing is one of the most inexplicable.

There are also boosters for natural immunity: normal societal interaction. Why do the Crats want to change that?
