Teach Racial History In Schools?

Hello Cypress,

The slavery in the ancient world wasn't based on racism. Anyone of any color could be a slave.

The confedates pointed to ancient Greece and Rome to justify slavery.

By the 19th century, the world had evolved and most of the civilized world outside the American south had banned the practice.

Pointing to Rome in the year 70 AD as an excuse just didn't cut the mustard anymore.

We want to move forward, not backward.

Hello Jack,

Yes. Yes. That would be the point. White people were slaves, Asians were slaves, Native People were slaves, not just Black people. An 'Economic System'.
But, yes, most slaves in America were Black. And the ongoing discrimination has left that group at a huge economic disadvantage.

Indigenous Americans were also enslaved in the colonies. Rhode Island was a slavery hub. Rhode Island was the last State to ratify the Constitution.

Hello Jack,

Yeah. I wonder if people in the North that lost family ancestors in the Civil War feel at a loss why Black people hate them so much?

There is racial hatred on both sides, but primarily it appears to be found in the Trump Party, and directed at blacks. And there is no good reason for it.

Diversion.

Answer the Question: 'When should the teaching of Black Slave women being used as 'Sex Toys' be taught in School?'

Don't try to hide, don't try to pretend it didn't exist, don't try to 'bury' it, Poli.

Hello Jack,

:) hahaha ... that's my view. But Poli is mentioning 'children'. I'm not real sure that is a productive idea. (maybe why no one teaches it outside College?)

If children are learning racism at home they need to be taught equality in school.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

Of course not, nor do we care.

Interesting how you've totally forgotten all the racist memes, comments, filth, and nastiness thrown at the Obamas by those of your tribe.

And you all wonder why POC seldom vote (R).

Electing a black man as president really set off the right. If anyone thought racism was gone that was a sadly mistaken idea.

Hello Jack,

You're the one claiming children need to know the truth. What truth? That Blacks were once Slaves? I think that is being taught and is general knowledge.
'Aware' of the problem? What is the 'Problem'? We still have Slavery?
Poli: "Obviously, not talking about it is not working." Have you heard of 'BlackLivesMatter'? Who's NOT talking about it?
Poli: "Question, Jack: Do you agree with the following statement: 'Racial tension is a huge problem in America.' " The 'racial tension' is only felt in poor urban areas amongst Blacks. And I blame that on economics

Poli: "If so, do you have any ideas on how to try to solve it or at least improve it."
Jack: Yeah. One. Raise the minimum Wage to $15/hr. Two. Stop importing Third World Labor to take jobs from poor urban Blacks.

Well if it is difficult to identify the problem then that is where to begin. It has to be talked about. That talk has to happen in school.

Racial tension affects everyone in our country. It affects our economy.

Good thought on raising the minimum wage. We agree!

I also agree it is not helping to have work visas where the super-rich get to pay less by utilizing temporary foreign workers with limited visas, and hold it over them, which is darn close to slavery.

But we need to do more to address our race problem in America.

Hello Jack,

Who's 'burying' anything?

The Trump Party would like to bury the idea that racism is a problem in America. They don't want to address it.

The Trump Party is making racism worse by pretending it doesn't exist.

Just the way they rail at CRT indicates guilt.

The Trump Party wants to pretend there is no white privilege.

You are right. We lived in Missouri when Obama was first elected. The HR dept. at my office had to tell the employees that under no circumstances were we allowed to put political cartoons up in the office. Someone kept putting images of Obama being hung, dressed like a witch doctor or with a bone in his nose, etc. on the lunch room bulletin board. And that was just in one tiny office in one tiny part of the country.

So ... you refuse to answer the QUESTION: 'At what age shall children be taught that Slave women were used as 'Sex Toys' for their Masters, his friends, and teenage sons'.

YOU epotimize the Wokesters that claim 'we need to talk about it', and then when a central issue comes up, run in terror at the idea.

High school history class sounds appropriate for that. Despite your love of graphic sexy stuff, that part doesn't need to be taught that explicitly. It's sufficient to point out that most Americans of African ancestry are mixed due to overseers and owners having relations with their female slaves. In the South many are also of native ancestry. When fleeing vindictive masters, they were able to take refuge with the natives, where they often married native women. Did you know that Jimi Hendrix was part Native?

What do *you* think it is?

I don't want to repeat my Post #118, but the '400 years of Black Slave Women being used as 'Sex Toys' by Master & Friends' is a core issue of Black Hatred.
Whites, ... they really have no reason.

Poli and his Wokesters want to 'teach' real history to Kindergarteners. Me, ... I'm thinking that's a little early for the Hatred to begin. What think you?

hahahahahaha ... THAT'S THE CORE GRIEVANCE!

My History teacher (who was the only Black teacher I ever had) told the Story of Thomas Jefferson having children with his Slave woman. And one of his sons looking so much like him, that he sold him to another Plantation. The Teacher asking "How could a Father sell his Son?"

According to Poli, this should be taught to 'children', you know 'the real History'.

Kids learn hatred at home. School is where (sometimes, with any luck) it is unlearned. Little kids don't think anything about race other than noticing that someone has different hair or skin than their family does. I always thought it was fascinating how every one of my kids was drawn to children who were "unusual" because they were Asian, Hispanic, black, etc., and then befriended them. In a hater household they would have been told not to play with that kid.

You're exaggerating, of course, about what "Poli and his Wokesters" want to teach and when.
