The same was true with Fox and Obama. People tuned in to get whipped into a frenzy of fear over the claims that the country was going to be ruined.

Joe Biden is a dedicated public servant. Donald Trump is a selfish oligarch. I could never agree to equate the two on any level.

And the Second is obsolete!

Neither Trump or Biden were the best people running for President. One, as you said, is a lying fucking moron. The other is a mentally compromised, racist, idiot retread. Yet, 98% of voters choose to vote for one of two garbage candidates. Does anyone really believe that Biden was such an amazing candidate to warrant the most votes in history? More than an intelligent, well-spoken Obama who just happened to be the first black President in US history? Of course not. People rushed to the polls to make damn sure Trump did NOT win.

Agreed. IMHO, pain is a major factor. As we age, the pain increases. Some people suck it up and some people seek to spread their pain and misery around to others.

A healthy level of fear is a good thing. Fear so strong that people freeze or go into denial that it's happening to them is bad. Education and training reduces most fears.

The individual parties selected their candidates. When it came to the election, people voted for either the two main choices or third party as you and I did.

That'll happen again this November.

As for why Republican voters chose Trump or Democrat voters chose Biden, that's up to them. It's a study well worth a thesis for someone working on a Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, sociology and/or politics.
