Virginia cops pepper-sprayed Black and Latino Army officer

:) It's become a 'political issue'.
Like 'OJ Simpson is innocent'.

I doubt there will be a trial here.

OJ was found “not guilty” in the criminal trial. Not “innocent”. He was found liable for those deaths in the civil case.

The point is that this has become 'political' rather than a rational discussion.

American Military Officer: "The Lt. stated he was afraid to get out of his car "
Jack: If the guy is too frightened to get out of his car, he shouldn't be in the American Military.

Why is this guy in the American Military? What is he 'Defending'? Muhammad Ali had a Position on America. He refused to wear the Uniform. Why is 'Lt. What's going on' wearing an American Uniform?

Are you saying the town of Windsor's firing of the Pepper Spray officer was political?

Probably. Just one of the 'sacrificial Lambs' that must be taken for (public) slaughter. From here on out, it's a delicate 'dance' for public approval.

"Brooklyn Center city manager fired following police shooting of Daunte Wright"

Some must be sacrificed for the good of the many.

Would you give him a medal for his conduct or simply consider it "Ops normal. Another fuckin' day in Windsor!"?

Jack is making a false equivalency between an unarmed black guy in his car with agitated cops just feet away with weapons drawn to whatever military role the guy has.

Write him a letter and ask him why he’s in the military. It’s irrelevant to the incident and the behavior of the cops.

Probably why nothing happened with the Lt. and his job, why the cop lost his job and why the Lt. will get a sizable settlement.

So a Black Capital Police officer didn't shot and kill Ashli Babbitt? Got it. :palm:

She broke into the capital at the front of a mob that was threatening the government of America. I am surprised that a lot more were not shot. You got nothing. She was committing a crime. He was driving his car. Now, do you get it?

I'm glad to know 'General What's going on' is your Role Model. We can all sleep a little safer now. Once the ChiComs and Ruskies know the General is too frightened to step out of his car, they will be too doubled up in laughter to attack.

I agree it's irrelevant.
But the Cops ... THEY don't know if he is armed or not. The more he acts suspicious (by NOT getting out of the car) the more he is assumed to be ARMED.

Well, the thing is that legislators could just pass a law that drained PBA pensions for settlements. They don't need the PBA to go along with it. They can just do it.

:palm: this sounds good in theory, but reality is going to be that if a municipality/county/state enact that kind of legislation, you end up with no law enforcement........

The cop got fired. The state is investigating the entire incident. The Lt. is suing for at least a million.

The Lt. stated he was afraid to get out of his car and the cop’s response? “You should be!”

Then, they made a threat against his career record if he didn’t let it go.

There. That’s non-partisan and the facts.

I generally stay away from predictions, but I’ll make an exception.

The cop stays fired.
Nothing goes on the Lt.’s record.
The Lt. gets a sizable settlement.

Trumppers say the guy should have simply complied.

He disobeyed a the government, they would have been in their rights to shoot him.

Obey the government or be pepper sprayed after they hold you at gunpoint.

Being asked/told to get out of a vehicle (because the Police have no idea if you are armed) doesn't seem to me to be an unreasonable request.

Jack, the man had BOTH of his hands VISIBLE and OUT THE WINDOW the entire time.........isn't that the recommended thing to do to make cops feel safe?????

Rough day at work? What the fuck was that?

These two podunk cops overstepped their bounds. Fire them, have the city settle with Nazario, most of which (I hope) is improvements in police training and procedures in Windsor, VA if not across the state.

Learn from it instead of denying it and move forward.

What's wrong with getting out of the car?
This isn't unusual.
It happens EVERY DAY.

NOT getting out of the car is unusual. Raises a Red Flag.
