We have never seen such a senior official say the President is unfit

Hey, if you guys want to bet the house on Biden, that's your call. I just wouldn't be so confident about it.

I notice that Democrats are not confident about it. They say the election looks bad for trump, but he might win.

Meanwhile, Republicans are insanely confident to the point of even denying the reality about events that have already happened. trump has never been able to do well in a debate, so why do you think he will do well in a debate now? Biden has done 11 debates, and over a hundred town halls. He enjoys the to and fro.

Some Republicans might fit that, but most of the ones I've talked to are, at best, cautiously optimistic. Trump did pretty well against Hillary, and if Biden has a bad day, Trump will do better against him.

That being said, I also realize that the debates don't necessarily equal electoral victory. Gore was better at the debates in 2000, but he didn't win the election.

Hello Woko Haram,

Sure, but he also spent $66 million on the campaign. I'm sure his investment in The Apprentice was a small fraction of that.

He got paid to do it, although they probably made a bad deal as he would likely have paid for the opportunity to get so much attention.

I don't think Biden expected to mentally decline in recent months. I mean that sincerely. I'm not trying to make fun of him, because things like Alzheimer's are serious. He's showing signs that he might not be mentally ready for the job anymore. That could be a disaster for the debates.

I don't think the DNC expected it either, or they would have pushed for him to drop out much earlier. It's definitely not a good position to be in when your most popular candidate might have to drop out and nominate someone else at the last minute.
Whereas your delivery is typically more polite than everyone else who tried to peddle these talking points, it didn't land.

trump's offensive aimed at Biden's supposed mental decline is pure projection. Just as he attacked Clinton's fantasy health issue in order to disguise his own. trump's motor skills are declining rapidly.

There are much cheaper ways to get a return on publicity than to run a presidential campaign. You said it yourself -- he's spent his entire life marketing his name, and most of the Trump Towers and other Trump related products came about long before his presidential runs.

For example, I'm sure he got a better return on The Apprentice than he did with the presidential campaign.
I agree that he made much more money playing a billionaire as an actor, than he did trying to become a billionaire after his cash cow died. What you're ignoring is the fact that trump is a narcissistic psychopath who needs the attention. He decided that he would launch this fiasco on the day after Obama made him look like a fool at the WH correspondent's dinner. Obama exposed The Apprentice as the ridiculous reality t.v joke that it was.

I think a better question is: has the media ever fixated this much on a president's words before Trump?

Has the media ever put this much effort into recording every supposed lie that a president has told?

When considering that several media figures were talking about impeaching Trump before he even got elected, that should tell you all you need to know about how they're going to present things.
Wrong question.

Has there ever been a POTUS that simply cannot tell the truth about anything?

Hello Dutch Uncle,

The Titanic was sunk by greed.

JP Morgan already owned all the railroads in the USA, but that wasn't enough. He wanted the shipping too. He bought the White Star line. It was pressed to quickly build the biggest fastest ships, and under that pressure, substandard rivets were installed by inexperienced riveters. That, and the pressure to set a new crossing record led to maintaining full speed and the resulting long gash which opened up too easily, exposing too many watertight compartments to remain afloat. JP Morgan was similar to DT. Enough was never enough.

My readings indicate arrogance, not greed, caused the sinking of an "unsinkable" ship.

If that's how the media worked, I'd agree. Instead, we see a pretty obvious liberal slant in most mainstream media. This has been around since long before Trump.

Again, if the same effort toward recording lies was done toward previous presidents, I'd agree. It clearly was not.

Dude, I've watched the Republicans bitch about the media all my life. Yes, most journalists lean left just like most gun owners lean right. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's because of the culture where they grew up and/or live. Still, so what?

Smart people can see what is factual and what is "slant". Stupid people not so much.

That said, most "media" are corporations. Most corporations are 1) right leaners and 2) all about the money. If you and I though we could make an easy $100,000 off a $10,000 investment selling "Go Antifa!' and "Biden for President" t-shirts, should we do it? I say "Hell yes!"

All media is corporate-owned including the entertainment complexes.

This is an area that is overhyped by the tRump folks. tRump benefitted from many mega campaign donors. A few now have Cabinet jobs. This notion that tRump spent a fortune of his own money on the campaign is more tRump campaign bullshit.

To a billionaire, $66 million isn't a "fortune", but it isn't insignificant either. Multiple people in this thread are erroneously claiming that Trump didn't intend to win the election. That's just an asinine claim when considering Trump's own finances in this, and also with the simple fact that running for president isn't a good investment if your actual goal is just to self-promote. Reality TV programs are a far better investment for that purpose, because they are cheaper to finance, while still providing a significant return (if they are successful).

It's not pure projection when there is a multitude of video evidence of Biden's decline.

Psychopath is a stretch. Narcissist, yes. Granted, the only difference between Trump and the average politician is that Trump doesn't hide his narcissism. Anyone who runs for president has to be at least partially narcissistic to think they are worthy of the presidency.

The corporations might be right leaning on economics, but not on social issues. Most corporations today are "woke" on social issues. It's hard to find a corporation that is socially conservative.

This is because globalism and progressivism are natural allies. Identity politics keep the working class divided, and that is exactly what corporations want. Open borders fit right into that agenda, because that gives corporations easy access to cheap labor.
