What are the Dems up to threatening Turkey?

This comes at a damn inconvenient time.

Sooner or later they are going to have to actually act. This is not sabre rattling.
I did point this out when speaking of problems this may create for our soldiers in the field while saying that a semantic vote over something that happened a century ago may effect us...

The answer I got was "I don't care".

"Speaker Pelosi said that she did not have a date in mind for bringing the issue to the floor, but that it would be brought up this session, which is to end around Nov. 16. Whatever happens, she insisted, relations between the United States and Turkey will remain strong. "

Right Nancy.... that is why we have this follow up from Turkey...

They told us already, they don't care.

"Parliament in Turkey Votes to Allow Iraq Incursion"

Turkey decided to invade, because congress is considering a non-binding resolution?

ROTFLMAO!

I think its more likely that turkey might consider military action, because PKK terrorists based in Iraq have killed hundreds of turkish civilians and soldiers. And neither the kurds nor the americans have been able to reign in PKK

Just a tad more likely.

They had held off on this vote for this long and suddenly do it now because? You like to pretend that the vote meant nothing, but we pointed out what would happen. All we heard is "I don't care".

That is fine, but it is intellectually dishonest when we pointed out exactly where this was going, then it happens. I don't think they are sabre rattling. I do think that if we simply waited until after our guys were no longer in Iraq, then held the vote, it could have been prevented.

No, the Dems, in this very thread, multiple times told us that they 'don't care' that it might effect the soldiers negatively.

I'm the one who said I didn't care, but not about the soldiers. I specifically rejected your premise that it would effect the soliders negatively, and said that some of us consider keeping the soldiers there as effecting them negatively.

No, Turkey has been wanting to invade for some time now, they hate the Kurds. However, we have been telling them that it would not be a wise decision and they shouldn't do that. Now that we obviously don't care what they think about something that happened 100 years ago, they don't care what we have to say.... good move!

I agree that keeping them there effects them negatively, but I can also see that adding another army into that field of operations also can effect them negatively on a far more immediate basis.

It is foolish to play with their lives in such a way for political points.

ah... yes, I recall that.... it slipped my memory amongst all their displays of caring for the troops...

I find this, since I believe it directed at me, to be beyond outrageous coming from a war supporter who doesn't give a rat's ass about soliders on their 4th tours who just want to come home.

I really do.

If the americans and kurds can't control PKK, turkey will defend itself militarily, whether or not there's a non-binding resolution pending in the US House of Reps. the domestic pressure in turkey is reaching a tipping point. They're tired of seeing their fellow turks killed.

Your drawing correlation and causality where none exists.

I don't care what you think Damo, I care what you said.

You said, that "people on this thread" SAID, they don't care if this effected the troops negatively, and then mister war supporter SF jumped on that and agreed.

And that is an outrageous misrepresentation of what I said coming from you, and a beyond the pale hypocrisy coming from SF, who sent the poor bastards there to begin with.

Yes, you did. I can vouch for that.

Rubbish, this is exactly what they threatened to do, what we have been barely able to keep them from doing, and now what they have done.

You are being deliberately disingenuous because you want to desperately pretend that such a vote held no importance. It clearly did, and the effect was exactly what I predicted. Amazing.

So I'm confused...........

were not the Turks guilty of genocide on Armenians?..Are Armenians Iraq Kurds? Please bring me up to speed on what occurred a century ago and what it has to do with Northern Iraq!

Please.

Turkey is not going to mount an expensive, lethal, and complex military intrusion into Turkey, because of some non-binding resolution pending in a legislative body in the united states.

They're going to do it, if they've decided that the US and kurds can't keep PKK from killing turks.

The Middle East is a cluster-fuck. Should have never decided to try and nation build over there, what a disaster!

So, if this does effect our soldiers negatively, will you still say that somehow I was wrong in pointing it out that it could?

I stated, this could happen because of this vote. You said, "I don't believe you", now that it is one step closer are you ready to admit that I may be right?

Adding another military into that area will not be beneficial for the US military in that area, regardless of whether you want them to stay, ever wanted them to go, believe that WMD are in Syria after the French and Russians moved them for Iraq... that black and pink are the same color, that 7 plus 7 is fourteen...

It doesn't matter what you think of the war, adding another military into the theater that is not working in conjunction with the "coalition" will negatively effect the US soldiers.
