The boomers lived in a uniquely prosperous time in American history. It wasn't the norm for children to move out of the family home at age 18, nor was it the norm for the parents to own one home and the kids to own a different home. Homes were passed down and the kids cared for the parents, and they all lived under the same roof. The exceptions were almost always among the upper classes.

The boomers had many privileges that people today simply do not. It's no longer possible to pay one's way through college with a part-time job when a bachelor's degree can cost $40,000. It's no longer possible to provide for a family on one income. No single man can change or fix that, and anyone who puts their faith in Trump or in Biden to make that a reality again is a fool.

Should any manufacturing come back to the United States it will come back to robots not people.there are 300,000 robots in the United States and each robot displays 3.1 workers. So you are correct going into the future we will have to figure out a way to support the dumbasses of the world. Going forward artificial intelligence will displace a lot of workers. I don't know what the solution is going forward but I know the Democrats screwed up by not paying attention to globalization when their base got laid off and the factories went overseas.

A single-income household could make it in the 50s, and have a car (or two), own a house, have kids, and probably have some type of recreational thing like a boat or an RV. Also take a vacation once a year.

You are trying to create a world-based more on nostalgia than anything. It was rare for a household to have two cars in the 50s and it was rare for a house to be a 3-2 as is common now. There were no microwaves washing machines were primitive and there were no dryers clothes were hung on a line. early 1950s no one had a TV no one had a stereo no one had a game console. No one had smartphones or tablets or any electronics. There was virtually no commercial air travel. Vacations were very simple and very local people were not going to Mexico or the Caribbean. Diners club was founded in 1950 and was the original credit card so during most of the 1950s the only credit available would have been a pawn shop. Houses are bigger people do more people go to clubs and gyms.

So what was the highest marginal tax rate in the 1950's? What was the CEO/Employee pay ratio in the 50's? You pine away for a time that was a lot more 'socialist' than anything Democrats are proposing today.
