What evidence exists that unity is possible?

So what was the highest marginal tax rate in the 1950's? What was the CEO/Employee pay ratio in the 50's? You pine away for a time that was a lot more 'socialist' than anything Democrats are proposing today. YOU support the party that has created and continues to propagate a massive wage/wealth gap that is unsustainable. YOU support the party that does everything it can to remove collective bargaining rights of workers. You get that, right? Your party sees no problem with the rich getting richer on the backs of Americans who are in poverty. That's your American Dream? No thanks.

Carter's inflation changed everything forever......

democrats controlled government up until the 80s.........so they are just as complicit in the crony capitalism crap we deal with today. OWN IT

Bla bla bla, you fucking pinheaded moron! People were making it back then and now they're not!

Now they cannot pay for 3 kids and owning a house and car on a single income.

THAT is the problem. :palm:

THAT is MAGA!

We didn't need electronics, we had kickball, motherfucker!

Kickball and bike ramps, and pickup baseball games bitch! I would guess you did none of that!

you literally the dumbest moron on the planet

LOL, everything is partisan with you. Every single President starting with Reagan was complicit in one way or another. The massive wealth gap began during Reagan, because his trickle down supply side economics was a failure. Then we made credit to available, then we let banks underwriter risky refi loans.... you get the idea. Or you don't, I don't really care.

Of course they were. But Republican policies now encourage the status quo, and Democratic policies want to change it.

no, democrats tell you that they want to change it....but they have no interest in drying up their piggy bank and you should know it. If you seriously believe that democrats are out there trying to make things better, you're a bigger fool than I took you for.

You have me blocked or something? Another Legion sock?

MAGA is a slogan, one he stole from Reagan, a man that was not fond of him one bit........

Proof?

Trump and Kennedy are both great presidents.
Trump's a a good one. Why be so bad to him?
Kennedy wasn't the bestest woman-wise..rich boys like him sometimes liked to take the pussy from poorer girls that could do nothing about it.
However, Have you ever seen PT 109? Jack was a real American, and a real leader, and had the right ideas for America.
That's why the ones that hate Trump had Jack killed years ago. He got in their way of fleecing America as Trump has done.
True story.

I'm actually a pretty smart guy. Republican continue to believe (or pretend they believe) in trickle down economics. They are about to obliterate the ACA with no plan to replace it. They fought Dodd-Frank tooth and nail. Both parties share blame for the current mess, but only one party actually has a platform and ideas. Republican have Donald Trump. They stand for nothing else. Libertarianism always sounds cool in theory. It is totally impractical. There is no such thing as pure capitalism. Government exists to check the greed of corporations. That isn't working as well as it should because of big money in politics. The answer isn't to simply surrender the country to greedy capitalists.

The boomers lived in a uniquely prosperous time in American history. It wasn't the norm for children to move out of the family home at age 18, nor was it the norm for the parents to own one home and the kids to own a different home. Homes were passed down and the kids cared for the parents, and they all lived under the same roof. The exceptions were almost always among the upper classes.

The boomers had many privileges that people today simply do not. It's no longer possible to pay one's way through college with a part-time job when a bachelor's degree can cost $40,000. It's no longer possible to provide for a family on one income. No single man can change or fix that, and anyone who puts their faith in Trump or in Biden to make that a reality again is a fool.

I agree with your analysis.
We are both on the same page with the understanding of 'the next generation will have it worse than the previous'.

The Challenge is: Why?

My assertion is:
1. 'Outsourcing of Jobs'. 'Foreign Labor' is cheaper than 'American Labor'. Capitalism dictates that the 'Widget' is made at the cheapest price. 'Corporate America' rushes to regions with 'Foreign Labor'.
2. 'Automation, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence'. Machine Labor replaces Human Labor. Machines don't get sick, take Lunch Breaks, need to sleep, or complain about Wages.
3. 'Importation of Third World Labor'. If the Capitalist can't move the Business to the Region of Foreign Labor, move the Foreign Labor HERE. (called the 'Saudi Plan')

No one is addressing these Issues.

You may see it differently. Please. If you have a different viewpoint, express it.
