what was the best time in American history?

Who ran the CA legislature during the partial deregulation of their electric market Desh?

Who has said they don't recall Enron? Can you give us an example?

I can tell you who was President during the Enron debacle. I can also tell who ran the CA legislature... DEMOCRATS.

Can you tell us which president was a close personal friend with the CEO of Enron and even had his own personal nickname for him? Fucking Hack.

Of course it is anecdotal, yet I was actually there, in business, you were not. You are relying on history books written by the winners for your mis-information.

LMAO... Rune, what did I state that was incorrect? I was alive during the first Iraq war, I remember it well. I was in college at the time and I majored in economics and finance. You proclaim I get my info from history books, which is impossible given that the events occurred while I was in school. We discussed current economic situations while there. You are just spouting off nonsense. That was a very mild recession.

The mini, fake recession of '01 (created only by Bush II saying "we are in a recession" so he could lower taxes for his wealthy friends was in fact much less severe as witnessed by me, and
my inability to apply the exact same, formerly successful tactics (since we were not in a real recession, no one was scared enough to short sell themselves).

The recession of 2000/01 was not created by Bush. It was milder than the recession under Bush I. The bubble within tech/telecom/biotech burst. Part of that was a result of Y2K spending levels coming down within the tech sector, part do to over building within telecom. The President does not get to just say 'we are in a recession'. A recession is based on at least two quarters of negative GDP growth.

Call it anecdotal, yet what you offer; opinion is equally unsubstantiated.

Mine is not opinion, it is fact. It is based on economic data for the country as a whole. Not on what one home buyer/seller combo did.

maybe people smart enough to remember what caused the fucking messes in the first place.

ERON MUCH????

For you I guess that is everybody on Wiki?

Do you know what ultimately brought Enron down? Any clue? Do you know that their demise was foretold months before it happened for anyone willing to pay attention?

1. I already told you I was sick of your novellas so fuck you, again.
2. Current events as related to you through the university filter.
3. The actual cause of the Bush II mini fake recession was indeed his proclamation and the people's response to it. Don't be such a concrete thinker. Perception is everything to the general public, including stock buyers and sellers.
You should know better.

and your sides deregulation always fucks the people huh.

Enron much

Who deregulated the CA electric market Desh? What party controlled the CA legislature?

Show us what deregulation you are referring to that led to Enron.

Your side repealed Glass Steagall.

then you are a fucking liar.

How can you NOT know about the 1993 bill congress passed without one single republican vote.

because your lying here so you DONT have to face the real facts.

I imagine there were several....which one were you referring to.....

1) I am going to respond to what is written on the board. That is the purpose of the board. No one is forcing you to read or respond to anything.
2) Again, current events is the key. We lived through it. You and I can both relate our experiences at the time. What is not in question is the actual economic data for the country as a whole. That data supports my position, not yours.
3) LMAO... no Rune, it was not. That is one of the most absurd things anyone has stated of late on this board. Desh is going to be pissed if you try and take her title away from her.

Santa Monica-- The threat of blackouts isn't the worst news for the public, a consumer advocacy group warned today. Blaming the deregulation law sponsored by Gov. Pete Wilson and the Legislature in 1996 for the crisis, the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights (FTCR) said that the deregulated energy industry was manipulating supplies to increase profits and that if the state's utility companies get their way, utility rates in S. California, now frozen, will increase by hundreds of dollars a month almost immediately.

LOL... ok desh... is deregulation the responsibility of who signs it into law or who writes the law? Or is it both?

fucking liar

The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 (or OBRA-93[1]) was a federal law that was enacted by the 103rd United States Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. It has also been referred to, unofficially, as the Deficit Reduction Act of 1993. Part XIII, which dealt with taxes and is also called the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993.

Wrong, you are contradicting yourself. First you said Bush IIs recession was stronger, now you have reversed your position.

Furthermore, what do you think triggers recessions, nothing at all? They just occur like a circadian rhythm ? Stop being a fool.

you mean the one who didn't bail him out and shut him down?.......or do you mean the previous one who let him do it?.......

No moron, I stated that the economic collapse that began under Bush (2008) was worse. You need to learn to read.

A recession is triggered by a slowdown in the economy to the point that GDP growth goes negative for at least two quarters. I already stated that as well, so do learn to read. I also gave you what triggered the down turn under Bush I, so read that as well.
