what was the best time in American history?

lol... who signed the bill repealing it?

The liberals want to give Clinton credit for all the good Congress did in the late 90's, but don't want to give him blame for the bad that Congress did.

I have stated many times that the repeal was done on an overwhelming bipartisan basis. It was.

That said, what I stated was not a lie. So you failed yet again.

I knew there was a reason I've had that dude on ignore for two years. Legislation becomes law without a President's signature?

Kind of funny too he mentions Newt Gingrich who was out of office almost a year at the time the law was signed.

lol... I didn't catch that... Poor Rune... lying again.

Also, too, the week following that day in 1991 that I purchased Nirvana, Nevermind, Pearl Jam, Ten, Guns and Roses, Use Your Illusion I and II and A Tribe Called Quest, The Low End Theory at Wall to Wall Sound and Video was a damn fine time in America.

Edit: My memory is somewhat hazy as to whether Wall to Wall Sound and Video had made the transition to "The Wall" at the time. Nevertheless, it was fucking rad.

My first semester in college. I can remember vividly this kid in the dorm across from me would arrive home from class at 4pm and turn on Smells Like Teen Spirit as loud as his stereo would go. Kid kind of resembled Cobain in looks as well and he spent the whole semester growing out his hair trying to look like him. Fall 1991.

Odd of this fellow wearing a lot of flannel close to 100%.

Dude, get the fuck out of here with that. I mean, yeah, they're not Appetite for Destruction quality, but they're pretty damn good.

They're okay. They should have whittled it down to make one very good album, instead of 2 albums w/ lots of filler.

And the videos for the hits were nearly intolerable.

You know, I'd have to assume you're correct but as clearly as I can remember his face I can't remember his dress. I'll tell you though I saw the guy the day Cobain killed himself and he was driving around campus blasting Nirvana and had this dazed look on his face. I felt for the guy.

Pearl Jam, Ten is the unimpeachably best CD purchased that fateful day in 1991. If you disagree, you should rip out your fingernails and set yourself on fire.

Alright Dung what's your favorite time period for hip hop?

For me it was my high school years of '87-'91 which coincide with hip hops 'golden age'. I'm still a rap fan but for me nothing will come close to that era.

you were in love with Fresh Prince weren't you?

Horsehit.

-You have him on IA because yurt said he was legion. You used to call him Legion. He's not.
-Newt Ginrich was speaker of the house during the 90's and made failed attempts to revoke Glass Steagal. Only someone being willfully obtuse would pretend that this law was revoked overnight without years of advocating for its demise on the part of right wingers. Of which Newt was a very prominent and powerful member.
-I love how the comedic team of Superfreak and Cawacko have spent years claiming Clinton is not responsible for the good economy because he had a Republican Congress. But now that is all by the wayside, and he was responsible for this. Own your own hypocrisy first, then talk about others.

Now that I have skewered both of you with one post, I have a long meeting and won't be back till this afternoon. So relax and don't panic, you have hours to come up with a response together.

'87 is somewhat early for me. I'm a bit younger than you but had an older brother so I was listening to Straight Outta Compton, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, Eazy-Duz-It, It Takes a Nation of Millions, Paul's Boutique and other shit that I had no business listening to at my age. But my favorite period isn't too far off from yours. Probably the '90 - '95 era. If you cut it off at 1991 you miss some cool shit (though it includes The Chronic, you miss Biggie, 2Pac, Wu Tang and lots and lots of other stuff) and while I listened to earlier rap, most of my exposure was in this period.

yes, you are indeed full of horseshit.

1) Gingrich was not there when it was actually repealed. To say 'he tried before' is irrelevant. He did not actually do it.
2) I have stated many times that Clinton did the best job at trying to be fiscally responsible (along WITH the Rep Congress). That doesn't mean he or the Rep Congress are responsible for the economy as a whole as much of that was set up before Clinton came to office. The tech/internet/biotech boom began in the late 80's early 90's. If you would like to show us policies that you think Congress wrote and Clinton signed that were a plus, I would be happy to discuss.

actually you simply once again displayed your desire to lash out without knowing what you are talking about.
