How do monuments to Confederates do that, though? Wouldn't monuments to the Union soldiers only accomplish the same goal?

I asked that if the monuments are removed, you'll forget who lost the Civil War

You screeched that was a fallacy.

Then you come right back in virtually the very next post and argue that you need these monuments to remember history.

So if the monuments are removed, what historical lesson will be lost?

First, he screeched about asking him if he would forget who lost the Civil War if the monuments to Confederates were taken down. Then in virtually the next post, he argues that we have to keep the monuments for fear of forgetting history.

So he obviously needs these statues, otherwise he will have no idea who won the Civil War.

To move on, let me say that I don't care about monuments in some city square. I do care about places like Gettysburg. It appears that you only want one side of the story told.

Would you like to see Monticello destroyed because Jefferson was a slave owner? Do you want Mount Vernon destroyed because Washington owned slaves? Or do you justify those two because they were "good" slave owners?
