Where's the calls for jail time for this wife beater?

You haven't read my comments, have you. </rhetorical> I'm going to type it bigger so it'll stay in your memory.

BOTH ARE AT FAULT.

She should not have taken the phone. He should not have reacted so violently to her taking the phone. It was a PHONE for god's sake, not the freaking Holy Grail.

SHE is at fault.
The guy simply retrieved HIS property.

You're trying to salvage the woman here. SHE'S the one at FAULT. SHE took/stole HIS phone. If SHE hadn't done this, no physical altercation would have resulted.

This seems to be a 'Sexist' argument. You're trying somehow to blame the Victim. You know, the guy that got his phone taken.

A number of people were concerned by his irrational response in getting the phone back. That doesn't mean a number of people are giving her a pass for taking the phone in the first place.

There is NOTHING irrational about retrieving your property from someone that took it.

California is a community property state, so the use of the words "theft" and "stealing" are just sophistry meant to excuse the attack by Mr. Baer.

(shaking head) 'sophistry'. That is what YOU are doing. Are you insinuating that his cellphone really isn't HIS?
Owl: "meant to excuse the attack by Mr. Baer."
Jack: There WAS NO ATTACK. She took his phone, she refused to give it back, he retrieved HIS phone.

THIS is what astonishes me. This totally lack of an unbiased perspective. I think you and a few others here are guilty of being sexists.
I'll bet if this same situation had the genders reversed, you would have a totally different view.

Christie; "If that bastard would have taken MY phone, I would have scratched his eyes out".
Owl: "I would have cut his balls off if he even touched MY phone".
Phantasmal: "What kind of an animal would take a girls phone without permission? He should go to Jail for at least 10 years to think about what he has done".

After reading all the "comments" about this, I was wondering about one thing.

Reverse the situation and have the man taking his wife's phone, refusing to return it, and when she tries to take it back, he falls over in his chair.

Would the comments then be that he shouldn't have taken it and he's responsible for what happened or would the woman be chastised for her behavior??

After all the years of women demanding fair treatment and equality, why are women still considered to being defended when they act irresponsible?

I don't understand why none of the women in this thread are willing to take Pamela's word about what happened and her feelings about it.

Stretch and TOP seemed like they saw this through an unbiased lens. Sadly, I can't say the same for Christie, Owl, and Phantasmal. It says a lot about how 'fair' left-leaning women would be.

Read the second post above yours (# 264). I asked the same thing.
The Right-leaning women seem to genuinely want 'fair treatment and equality'. The Left-leaning women are frauds, they have no desire to be treated 'fair and equal'. They want some Special Status, where the Law doesn't apply to them. In my opinion, poor representatives of Liberal Values. Doing more harm than good.

Thanks! I failed to mention the exceptions. It might have been my contempt for Owl.

Yes, the word "rage' says it all. People who have the kind of rage you mentioned above have anger management problems.

Thank you for your complete understanding of the human psyche Dr. Freud. However the term rage used in this context includes mild anger but hell with your extensive knowledge you already know that.

ADDED: Aren't you a little obsessed with this subject? After all about 26 out of 32 of your posts were in this thread yesterday.

Rage never means mild anger, is English your second language or something? Rage means violent, uncontrollable anger; frenzy, fury violence; going off the deep end, losing control, blowing one's top.

Yeah, most of my 26 posts were in response to someone who addressed me first. It's what we do here, in case you weren't sure of the definition of "messageboard."

You know who's really obsessed with this subject? Try Jack with his 60 +/- posts.

You know who's really obsessed with another subject? Try your pal's special thread with 7000+ comments. Count up and report back to us on how many of them the two of you wrote. Now that's obsession.

Is it that you weren't brought up with training in good manners and civilized behaviour?

Look up the phrase "grace under pressure."

Spare me. You just wanted an opportunity to bash liberal women here, even though we all blamed both of the Baers. You're so transparent.

Yep. Apparently this extends now to searching other political chat forums in search of Jade, me, Mason. Chumps reported a while back finding a forum where Jade hangs out. Too bad he doesn't know what moniker I use elsewhere, or the name of the GR forum Mason started for Amazon friends.... and no, it's not the same one that we abandoned that Toxic obsesses about weekly. <--- (This will give her something to do tomorrow when she sees it. Besides re-posting the comment, that is. lol)

What is it with these RWNJ "males" and their obsession and hatred of liberal women? It's almost as though they fear we're after their nearly-non-existential jewels or something.

Christie. Let's say you have a 5 year old child that takes your phone and runs off towards the swimming pool to throw it in the water just to see you get angry and upset. You, as an adult, go after the child and grab it's arm and hand and forcefully remove your phone from the youngsters hand. Would that seem reasonable to do? Would that be what most adults would do? Would you try to instill in the child the idea of NOT taking things that belong to others?

See. That's what we have here. The Wife/Child taking the cellphone of the Husband/Adult. After a 20 minute heated argument, the Wife/Child thinks that smashing the cellphone of the Husband/Adult into smithereens would be fun. The Husband/Adult goes after the Wife/Child and grabs her arm and hand and forcefully removes HIS phone from HER hand.

So Christie. Who's the Dumbass here, ... the Wife/Child or the Husband/Adult?

Christie: "Is it that you weren't brought up with training in good manners and civilized behaviour?"
Jack: ONE of the TWO are guilty of the question you put forth ... NOT both of them.

hahahahahahahaha .....

The two women (Stretch and TOP) that brought forth an honest reply and thoughtful answers, their Integrity and Ethical Honesty has gone UP on the JPP Forum. The three women (Christie, Owl, and Phantasmal) that have tried to Blame the Victim, their Honesty and Moral Character have gone DOWN on the JPP Forum.

Folks, ... what we have here is "THREE BIMBOS trying to play THE VAGINA CARD". (shaking head ... this is just sad)

Neither is at fault. I blame the chair for collapsing. Sue the chair manufacturer (it's the liberal thing to do).

We're talking about what happened between two adults, not your hypothetical about a five-year old. Furthermore, the liberal women here are talking about the entire incident from beginning to end while you're fixating about grabbing a phone.

Mrs. Baer said she fell to the ground because she had hurt her foot earlier and couldn't keep her balance. Why didn't Larry help her up after he got the phone? Why did Larry just stalk away, leaving bystanders to come to her assistance? Perhaps you think she was asking for it.

Spin away Jack. Both people behaved badly and it's a shame that all you have is criticizing the wife and the liberal women on this forum. It's not just about the phone, there's a whole back story that led up to the public argument. You have to keep bloviating about "stealing the phone" because if you were honest, you'd admit the optics looked pretty bad for Baer.
