2016 College Football

If Texas A&M finds a way to beat Alabama this weekend then A&M will definitely be in the playoff talk. My fear is that A&M will beat Alabama and then lose to LSU in their last game and then Alabama will go to the SEC championship because they are Alabama.

Texas A&M has the talent to win. And they had two weeks to get ready for Bama. But I don't think they will win. Bama is playing hungry.

There isn't a team in NCAAF that isn't beatable.

I have my own fears. Penn State isn't a national title threat but their still a bunch of ugly mother fuckers who like to hit hard and playing at Happy Valley during a white out is no picnic.

Oh I am not saying Bama is unbeatable. No way. Any team is beatable.

A&M was doing good early on but just couldn't maintain it. Atleast my school finally won, first win of the season!

The downside of the victory against A&M is that we lost Eddie Jackson. Not only a big piece of the best defense in the college game today, but also a special teams beast.

Thanks, Eddie. You played some great games. Get better and go play some Sunday football.

It appears my fears were well founded. The beast from the east is back. Oh well we still have our fate in our own hands.

I was listening to ssome sports talk thing, and they made an interesting point. And Mott, it puts you in a terrible spot. You have to root for Michigan for the next 4 weeks.

If Penn State wins the rest of their conference games, all it would take is a single loss by Michigan (before they play OSU) and Penn State is in the Big 10 championship game over OSU.

And other than Iowa, there isn't a power team left on Penn State's schedule.

No they wouldn't. OSU only has 1 loss and PSU has two, though only one non-conference loss. If OSU wins out then OSU will win the division as they have the better over all record. If OSU were to lose another game but beat Michigan and PSU was to win the rest of their games then OSU and PSU would be tied and PSU would win the tie breakers.

Who do you all think will win between Baylor and Texas today and do you think if Texas loses that Charlie Strong will be fired? I am personally rooting for Baylor but if Baylor wins I also hope Strong does not lose his job. He seems like a good person and a good coach but there are just way too many expectations on him right now and i'm sure it's not easy to focus while people are talking about firing you after every game. Go Bears, but don't fire Strong. As for Baylor I do think that they are sort of flying under the radar right now and could possibly make it into the playoffs if they win out and a couple of teams lose.

The first College Football Playoff rankings were released today.

#1 - Alabama - As it should be.
#2 - Clemson - They leaped over Michigan based on strength of schedule?
#3 - Michigan - Beat Ohio State and you are a lock.
#4 - Texas A&M - Really? Much respect for A&M, but I expected Washington to be here.

Really on #4? If anyone doesn't believe in the SEC bias in the media wants to pull their blinders off now is the time to do it. The SEC east is a joke. Everyone is so bad that Kentucky has a shot at winning the east. Alabama is a great team and I wouldn't argue their #1 ranking. Till someone knocks them off I'm ok with that but after Alabama it's not just a step down. It's a fall off of a cliff. The next best team is Texas A&M. A team who's biggest signature game this year was a 19 point road loss to Alabama. If TAMU was in the Big 10 they would be the 6th best team behind OSU, Mich, PSU, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Yet there they are #4 in the playoff poll.

There is no question that this year the Big 10 and the ACC are clearly superior from top to bottom than the SEC is based on the play on the field and non-conference competition. Certainly Alabama is a great team but that does not warrant perpetuating a mythology when there are far more deserving teams than TAMU. If that isn't bad enough Florida and Auburn are set up in the polling to leap frog over TAMU if they should stumble and those two two loss teams win out. This is a complete and total travesty and the PlayOff committee, the SEC and ESPN should be called out on it.

To make my point perfectly clear. With only 4 teams in the playoff any team that does not win their conference has not earned the right to compete in the playoff and stacking the playoffs with two SEC teams (or from any conference) to improve ESPN's (or any media outlet) bottom line is frreakin reprehensible.

Well MS State solved the problem caused by the selection committee.

Sad that it took a losing team's victory to do it.
