Alec Baldwin Fired Prop Gun That Killed Halyna Hutchins, Injured Director

"According to the affidavit by the detective in the Santa Fe County sheriff’s office, the gun used in the shooting was set up by Hannah Gutierrez, the production’s armorer, and handed to Mr. Baldwin by Dave Halls, the assistant director. Neither Ms. Gutierrez nor Mr. Halls responded to requests for comment.

In addition to Mr. Zanoff, five other experts in the use of firearms on film or television sets said that it was against usual protocol for an assistant director to hand a gun to an actor. One of the experts, Mike Tristano, a veteran professional armorer based in Los Angeles, said that typical practice on a film set would be for the armorer to hand the gun to the actor and that the chain of events described in the affidavit struck him as a “red flag.”

Again you have no idea if he intended to point it at her and pulled the trigger. Why do people keep thinking they know all the details?
So the projectile did not hit what the gun was aimed at? And the gun discharged without the trigger being pulled. OK if you say so.

You fuckers who dont know what happened are annoying me.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was huddled around a monitor lining up her next camera shot when she was accidentally killed by the prop gun fired by Baldwin.

The actor was preparing to film a scene in which he pulls a gun out of a holster, according to a source close to the production. Crew members had already shouted “cold gun” on the set. The filmmaking team was lining up its camera angles and had yet to retreat to the video village, an on-set area where the crew gathers to watch filming from a distance via a monitor.

Instead, the B-camera operator was on a dolly with a monitor, checking out the potential shots. Hutchins was also looking at the monitor from over the operator’s shoulder, as was the movie’s director, Joel Souza, who was crouching just behind her.

Baldwin removed the gun from its holster once without incident, but the second time he did so, ammunition flew toward the trio around the monitor. The projectile whizzed by the camera operator but penetrated Hutchins near her shoulder, then continued through to Souza. Hutchins immediately fell to the ground as crew members applied pressure to her wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding

He was pointing the gun at her because she was the cinematographer and they needed a shot of the gun firing directly at the camera. She was behind a perspex shield which would have protected her from a blank but not from a live bullet sadly.

read the article, you are mistaken.

Alec Baldwin, as stupid, ignorant and celebrity entitled as he is (barring him killing that person with intent)...will remember that the rest of his life - and that person no longer has life.

Now there are crew members saying there were two (2) previous accidental discharges of weapons on the set. They say further that nothing was done about these. No additional safety briefings or training, no assurances that corrective action was taken.

After those, Baldwin was handed a "cold gun" by an assistant director, not a prop man, not the armorer. It appears neither the asst. director nor Baldwin checked the weapon personally. Given two previous incidents, I'd say there's some major liability going on there.

Yes he pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger or else she would not have been shot.

:palm:

Again, did he intend to point it at her and pull the trigger? Yes or no? You seem to know more than the police investigating this.

Perhaps you should call them and tell them how you solved the case.

The AD out ranks the armorer with gun safety on set....however the apparent fact that the armorer was not present is a Big Fucking Problem.

So you think the gun discharged without him pulling the trigger? You think the bullet curved to her location. Guns are designed to discharge when the trigger is pulled. Guns are also designed to hit the target that they are aimed at. The real question is do you think Baldwin intended to discharge a live round at her. No I do not. But I do think he certainly aimed at her and pulled the trigger. He likely expected to discharge a blank.
