Alec Baldwin Fired Prop Gun That Killed Halyna Hutchins, Injured Director

He did not try to aim at her. He was practicing cross draw and it discharged when he did it the second time.

Souza told them Baldwin was "sitting in a pew in a church building setting, and he was practicing a cross draw," the affidavit said. A cross draw is when a shooter pulls the weapon from a holster on the opposite side of the body from the draw hand.

So dingbat shot two people trying to draw from his holster.

Like Barney Fife

This makes him even more negligent. They weren’t even filming. And it went off. “Mr. Baldwin was explaining how he was going to draw the gun, pulling it out from the holster, when the firearm discharged.” How do you fire a gun while pulling it out of a holster? And why was the gun pointed at crew? Even with blanks, that could be dangerous – and stupid.

1) Baldwin discharged at least one projectile from a firearm into the bodies of two human beings, killing one and seriously injuring the other.

1) Did the script call for him to point the gun at the victims?

Nope. They know not to ever point a gun at someone even if they're filled with blanks.

He was rehearsing. The first time he took the gun out of his holster, nothing happened.

And he could have stood there, pulling that gun out of the holster and "rehearsing", until the 2nd coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and nobody would have been hurt. But he screwed up 3 times. He didn't clear the weapon, he pointed it in an unsafe direction, and then he pulled the trigger.

Maybe. So what? Plenty of actors/actresses are like that. Entitled rich people.

Indeed. And I respect the ones who keep their mouths shut and realize that their words may have consequences.

3) He is virulently anti-gun.
That is a lie.

2) What was his role as an actor in this film? He had a gun. Was he a bad guy with a gun, or a good guy? If he was playing a bad guy, that would be understandable because he could camp it up a little and play the evil right wing gun nut to the hilt. But for him to play a white hat gun toting problem solver here to save the town, well, that would be the pinnacle of hypocrisy right there, seeing as how the left believes the prevalence of guns in America causes more problems than it solves. I think any anti-gun Hollywood lefty should publicly state their position and publicly refuse to accept any role in any movie that involves guns.

This has nothing to do with politics. Stop making it political.

This is not a political issue with me, it is a hypocrisy issue. Let me see if I can clarify it: "I think ANY anti-gun Hollywood ENTERTAINER should publicly state their position and publicly refuse to accept any role in any movie that involves guns."

Do you know the rules of gun safety?

I've had 3 accidental discharges in my life, nobody ever got killed or was ever in any danger. Yeah, 3.

Rifle, .22, and .38

Because you never point the muzzle at anything you don't want to kill.

Always point the muzzle in a safe direction.

Being against NRA is not being anti gun. Do not know why people are confused about that.

That's true. I quit the NRA when they let Clinton's "Assault Weapon Ban" pass. There's other, better gun advocacy groups.

NRA just takes money and does nothing, IMO. The days of Charlton Heston are over.

Exactly. Alec has reasons to be against NRA too and it isn't because he's anti-gunner.

It is possible that he swung the gun too far right when he pulled it out the second time. It's a momentum thing. The weight of the gun tend to make it swing to the right in your hand.

Than he was Negligent

It’s simple, it’s called Negligent Homicide for a reason, why is it different for an actor? He did it it wasn’t intentional, but it was Negligent ,deal with it

If you swing to far off the road and kill someone...you will be charged!
