Buying a sports car

I drive a ford f350 super duty crew cab that was my dads at one time and then became my 16th birthday present and I love it. It's kindof funny sometimes when I'm getting in or out of my truck in a parking lot and people are surprised to see a small girl get out of it.
lotta truck, you must haul horses.

The misses has signed off on me buying a sports car this year. I have a budget of 40K. I can go either new or used. I'm interested in what y'all think would be the best sports car for that money. Let me emphasize "SPORTS CAR" and not race car. I have neither the money or mechanical aptitude for a race car. The car has to have some practicality as I will use it to commute.

What I am not interested in is a pencil dick car. I don't have any compensatory issues. I'm interested in speed, handling, fun factor, reliability and cost to own. Not big and loud.

I'm not that interested in a muscle car. I want a car that can turn. I also live where the weather is crappy about half the year so that's a factor too.

Get a minivan

Can't Mott just get penis enlargement and a truckload of Cialis?

3D isn't allowed to drive.

No....no I wouldn't Jarod. I'm a professional do gooder working in the Environmental dodge. Doing good deeds is a why of life. I don't need to salve my conscience. I probably do more to save children from cancer as a Hazmat Manager than all the oncologist in the country do and that's no exaggeration.

Besides, the only Honda that enters the equation is the Civic Si coupe and it gets blown out of the water by the Ford Focus ST, The Subaru BRZ, The Volkswagon GTI, The Subaru WRX and the Mazdaspeed 3 and the Mazda MX 5 Miata among others. All at a comparable price to the Civic Si. Honda is not in even a consideration. The current Mazda 3 S hatchback I bought for my wife earlier this year is comparable to a Civic Si. The Civic Si has about 20 more HP but the Mazda 3 S has better handling and is way more practical since it's a hatchback and not a coupe.

this is a very long winded way to say "fuck those cancer kids i want a car" :)

Yeah if you like doing mods/playing around the Miata is hard to beat. But the most important quality is the driver. Especially if you're doing something other than straight aways. I'm not a big fan of Subaru because they're ugly and small. But they are reliable.
You forgot....they perform! The SCCA guys call them "Giant Killers" as they often outperform cars that cost far more. I agree about their looks though, particularly the STI. It looks juvenile as hell. Though I would consider a used WRX STI Hatchback. I do like their looks.

LOL Been there done that. I'd rather have a minivan than a pick up. Made mine a party vehicle. Was great for long trips (if you were a passenger). The misses and I would go out partying with other couples we know on trips to Chicago, Cleveland, Charlotte and the girls would wear sexy outfits and we'd go out on road trips partying or to concerts, ball games, clubbing, etc. Had a lot of fun in that minivan. :) It wasn't exactly fun to drive. Not as much work as driving a pick up but not bad.

LOL Naaaaa.....It's not like Im getting a Dodge Hellcat or an F350 (Sorry Norah). This is my middle age crazy car. Not a "I have a pencil dick and need to compensate" vehicle. Having said that...I'm not "That Crazy". I don't want a sports car that looks like it belongs to a teenager. Nor do I want some big ass whomba with lots of power and middle of the road handling. I've driven a Mazda Miata and despite it's lack of power it's more fun to drive than any Stang or Camaro or Charger. Unless you're really, really into drag racing.

Have you ever noticed that people only drive F150 and F350, and whenever you do see an F250, it's always a commercial vehicle? Not sure if there's a reason for that...

F250 is more popular as a fleet vehicle cause for commercial purposes it doesn't require a CDL where as an F350 (or it's van counterpart E350) when used for commercial purposes requires a Class B CDL to drive.

Those are both good reasons. But there is an additional reason why people buy F350s. A used F350 costs about the same as a used F250. More power for roughly the same price.
