As you know, Trumpf saw he was on a loser. It wasn't that he cared about throwing people out of paid work, it wasn't that he gave twopence for the reputation of his country, it wasn't that he wanted a wall or cared about immigrants - he just feared that his great, fat, smelly EGO might get a dent. Do put the buffoon out of his misery, for decency's sake!
