Deputies were patrolling the area near Ulmerton Road and 119th Street North shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday night when they witnessed shots being fired from a vehicle.

As the vehicle fled the area, deputies turned on their lights and sirens and begin to pursue. During the pursuit, deputies deployed stop sticks, deflating the right front tire of the vehicle.

The suspects continued fleeing for a short time. When they tried to make a turn onto Fairmont Street in Clearwater, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a building

A family’s Memorial Day weekend gathering left one man dead after an accidental shooting.


It happened late Sunday night in the 7600 block of Hereford near Reveille in southeast Houston.


The Houston Police Department was called to the scene where officers found one man shot in the chest. He was sent to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died.


According to HPD homicide detectives, a large family gathered with friends to celebrate the holiday weekend in their backyard.


Two men were comparing their handguns when one of them went off, shooting the victim in the chest.


The man who accidentally fired the shot allegedly left the scene...

A two-year-old boy somehow got hold of a loaded gun, then shot and killed his sister.

It happened inside a house in northeast Fresno, while the father was home with four of his children.

Police say three children were in a bedroom when the toddler came in with a loaded handgun, that accidentally went off, hitting his 6-year-old sister in the upper body.

The father was in the living room at the time of the shooting.

More than 500 kids and adults packed Jock Leighton Park Sunday night to remember a Palm City teenager who died Friday of a gunshot wound to the neck.



Patrick Appleton, 13, died in what police are calling an accidental shooting.



Martin County Sheriff's Deputies say Appleton was at home and was showing a 22-caliber gun to a friend when it went off.

An Army private from Yonkers has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of his wife at Fort Polk, La., fort officials said Wednesday.

Pvt. Luis Ortiz's wife of 10 months, Samantha Zippo Ortiz, 20, also from Yonkers, was shot with Ortiz's personal shotgun in their Fort Polk home Oct. 10. Ortiz said the gun went off accidentally.
