Adoptions were used as a cover story because Russians blocking adoptions of ill Russian babies was their response to the Magnitsky Act sanctions.

They don't care about adoptions. They want the sanctions lifted (because those sanctions cost Putin personally)

Besides..Trump just admitted the truth...that it was about getting help from the Russians to get elected
 
This Mueller investigation is so much trouble for trump that it will probably end up with congress having to make a determination on whether or not to bring up impeachment, oh wait.. Republican House and Senate, darn.
But the Dems could win one, or both houses, then that's real trouble for Trump, this could actually end up at the Supreme Court...oh wait 5-4 majority on the court, maybe 6-3 if they have to replace the blind moon-bat due to dementia.

Nothing in the email chain mentions adoption. The only one talking about adoptions is the trump side, using it as an excuse for the meeting. I can't find any quotes by Veselnitskaya saying the meeting was about adoption. In fact, she's an operative for the Russian government.
