What kind of "Christian values" do Conservatives want?

Then gun humpers sound pretty amoral.

I would hope if any of us saw school children being slaughtered, and we had a clean shot at the perp, we would take it....and worry about any outfall later.

What makes you think that they had "a clean shot at the perp"?

No, it's not. For instance, one of the band members at the LV shooting said they were afraid that they would be mistaken for the shooter and taken out by the police.

Edited to add: I included a link to the band member's Twitter but for some reason it doesn't display correctly. Here's a screenshot:

Which is basically what I said. Either is being punished for trying to take out the shooter.

Disagreed, but history does prove foreign powers might become involved in a civil war for their own benefit. The Brits were tempted to side with the CSA. Germany took sides in Spain. That's different than saying foreigners caused a civil war.

It was a bit sweeping, possibly, but I don't think Franco would have chanced his arm if he hadn't been sure of foreign help. the Soviet Union became State Capitalist because of the interference of eighteen foreign armies, and was already at war and so on. The English government was tempted to support the South, but couldn't risk going against popular opinion. The Vietnam War was purely foreign intervention.

I don't know what kinds of weapons the band members had. At the time, no one knew that the shooter was up in the hotel, either. I don't blame them for hiding; it was the sane thing to do. My only point is that CCW advocates are constantly claiming that "a good guy with a gun" is necessary to stop mass shooters, but it seldom happens even when one is present. Clearly stopping a shooter with your own weapon is self-defense. So there's no reason to be concerned about prosecution. Plenty of reasons to be concerned about being shot yourself though.

Wishful thinking. There are plenty of people who have been prosecuted for using a firearm in self defense. In many jurisdictions, simply using a firearm is regarded as an admission of guilt.

If that were true, gun states would have less murder, they don't.
If gun control worked, countries with strict gun control laws would have less gun crime. There are many examples otherwise. OTOH, there are states like Vermont, with almost no gun laws and very little gun crime.

True. So much for the "good guys with a gun" mantra. lol

This is why the idiotic idea of arming classroom teachers won't work. A mass shooter appears. The school goes into its practiced lockdown mode. An armed teacher ventures out of his/her classroom in an effort to take out the shooter. Meanwhile, police arrive. They rush the building, see bodies, and an armed person. They take out the armed person. Oops, it was Mr. MacNamara, the English lit teacher, who was just trying to help.

I mean the part about this eventually leading to a full ban on all guns. No evidence of that, it's just the Slippery Slope fallacy.
The Slippery Slope is the control freaks' strategy. Take a little bit now, then a little bit later when the loss of the first bit has become "normal". They depend on people like you dismissing it as "the Slippery Slope fallacy".

That addresses the second coming!
Good works are fine, but salvation comes only thru the work at the cross
It also addresses what leads to salvation.
What separates the sheep from the goats.

There is a bit of sweeping there. Vietnam was definitely a proxy war for the Communists and the Western Democracies but at its most fundamental, it was a war to reunite their own country.

After I said religion makes people susceptible to Fascism and Fake News, you said: "You are also making the arrogant mistake of blaming it all on religion instead of public education." You said this in post #859.

Now go ahead, be a pussy, and deny it. ;)

You are. Since you like the mince words, you'll note that I never said "only". :)

The early Christians lived in communist/socialist communities. Everyone shared in whatever was available, everyone able had to work and contribute as well. Israel still has socialist kibbutzim.

Funny how horrible those things are in modern life, to our ignorant conservative and/or fundie friends, eh?

To conservatives, "socialism" is just a boogeyman they use to scare each other and other children.

Which is the result of a couple of centuries of anti-gun legislation and propaganda.

Modern Christianity is all about the money.

Disagreed. I will agree that too many Televangelists are all about the money, but you can go into any church within 10 miles of yourself and not find any that are "all about the money" unless it's one of those televangelist assholes.
