Well, blacks don't eat swamp cabbage that I know of..but they eat chitlins..some crackers do eat chitlins..a lot don't.
I wouldn't doubt there's some ol' black boy out in the woods cooking him up a mess of swamp cabbage at some time 'round heanh, though.
