Since liberalism is completely opposed to the teachings of Christ, I would have to say yes they are.
The teachings of Jesus are antithetical to American conservatism.
For the most part...the teachings of Jesus comport well with a progressive agenda.
Since liberalism is completely opposed to the teachings of Christ, I would have to say yes they are.
Actually, thousands of atheists come to know Chist every day. They hear God's word and they believe. So, it's not pointless at all. Is it?
Nothing wrong with atheists changing their blind guesses from "there are no gods" to "there is a GOD...AND jESUS IS IT."
Blind guesses are just blind guesses.

Apparently talking to you is pointless, so.....![]()

People believe in God because of evidence. There is no guessing involved.
YOU talking to me is pointless. You never have a valid point to offer.
Imagine the conversion rates if folks actually saw christians living the teachings of Christ in their daily lives as opposed to all the browbeating self-aggrandizing peacherism. As it is, I would suggest self-professed christians begin openly living according to the teachings of Christ; show me.
Horse shit.
There is no "evidence" that logically can be considered "evidence that any gods exist."
There also is no "evidence" that logically can be considered "evidence that no gods exist."
What the hell are you talking about here, Nomad?
It is my position that anything called a "belief" about the existence or non-existence of a GOD or gods...
...is nothing but a blind guess. I think blind guesses ought to be called blind guesses.
What the hell are you talking about here, Nomad?
I am not insecure about anything on this issue. I have set out my position several times. Here it is again:
I do not know if gods exist or not;
I see no reason to suspect gods CANNOT EXIST...that the existence of gods is impossible;
I see no reason to suspect that gods MUST EXIST...that gods are needed to explain existence;
I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess in either direction...
...so I don't.
If you want to make blind guesses on the issue...and call those blind guesses something else...do it.
I think it sucks to do so.
Really? If there is no God, then where did the physical universe come from?
Where did the laws of physics come from?
Where does consciousness come from?
Where do love and hate come from?
What about art and music? Why do we create and enjoy it?
The Bible explains all of it. Science can explain none of it.
People believe in God because of evidence. There is no guessing involved.
Fine. Call them whatever you want to. I'm perfectly OK with calling blind guesses beliefs if those doing the guessing actually believe their guesses.
Sounds pretty logical if you ask me.
Whoa there, big fella!!! Settle down!!!
I was not talking about you. When I said "you" I meant it in a generic sense.
IOW, "you" as in "anybody".
Relax.
I'm agnostic. I don't make blind guesses or have beliefs on the issue. I readily admit that we as humans don't know anything.
I thought I made that abundantly clear.
I just don't see what the BFD is about calling beliefs "beliefs" given that's exactly what they are. Maybe you have a different definition of the word than I do.
Again, as long as they aren't calling beliefs "facts", I'm OK with it.
You are free to feel however you want to about it.
I do not know...and neither do you.
But I understand that your blind guess is that there is a GOD.
Fine...nothing wrong with a blind guess.
Which ones?
I do not know...and neither do you.
But I understand that your blind guess is that there is a GOD...and that "consciousness" comes from that GOD.
Fine...nothing wrong with a blind guess.
I don't know and neither do you.
But I understand that your blind guess is that there is a GOD...and that love and hate come from that GOD. (Interesting that you think THAT!)
But, fine...nothing wrong with a blind guess.
Most art and music come from the humans who create it.
What is your problem with that?
Horse shit on both counts.

In other words, your argument is that it's just a blind guess. Only someone who is blind would say something like that.

That was very lame.
As to the question:
Is there a GOD?...
...one can either truthfully say, "I do not know"...or make a blind guess.
If you want to blindly guess there is a GOD...fine with me.
There are others who will blindly guess that there are no gods.
That is also fine with me.
Nothing wrong with blind guesses.
