Watching my IRA increase to more than it was before the 2008 recession like most simpletons. If you are afraid of stocks put that same 12.4% in treasury bonds and you will still have more income than Social Security provides, leave a large investment account for your heirs, and eliminate government's largest source of expenditures.

If those workers you say are more valuable actually were, why aren't they the owners instead of having to work for someone else?

If it wasn't for the owners providing the opportunity for the workers, those that have to work for someone else wouldn't have a place to work. Automation has replaced the worker in many locations. What automation has replaced the owners?

The more they rely on SS as their primary source, the more dependent they are to the government.

They should have been allowed to invest as they saw fit or they should have saved/invested more on their own. Imagine how much they could have had if it weren't for the government wanting to keep them on that leash.

I did not say that workers are "more valuable". I said that business owners need workers as much or more than workers need owners. If there were no workers available, the owners would have never been able to create their businesses to begin with.

Therefore, it's a two-way street.

You did say they were more valuable when you say one is needed more than the other.

Automation has replaced workers. Automation hasn't replaced owners. Tells me which one is more valuable.
