Edwards gives the speech of a Lifetime...

How many applications for new US refineries have been made in the past 7 years ?

Theoretically an oil company should lower prices to increase volume sold if they can. But I've seen this before - oil comapnies soon realize that anytime they lower prices everyone else does too. Which renders the point useless. The system acts as somewhat of an unofficial cartel. Hell, if a company actually did lower their prices, I'm sure they'd get calls from their buddies at the other comapanies complaining about it...

The only real solution to the energy problem is hydrogen. Ehtanol would be OK, but we rely on domestically produced corn, which is never going to be energy efficient enough to do anything, whenever it would make so much more sense to import sugar cane from Brazil and other tropical nations. I guess the corn lobby isn't fat enough from it's already ridiculous subsidies, though.

We don't have enough oil left in our reserves to supply the current US demand, Top, and that's a fact.

I don't think that children should go to bed hungry tonight.

And I ate breakfast. I hate myself, I'm such a "hypocrite".

defintely not a hypocrit in the above.

But if you were a millionare with plenty to eat, started a foundation to feed those hungry kids and then ate their food... you would be a hypocrit.

Given that there hasn't been a new refinery built in the US in about 30 years, I am going to guess none. Because it is a waste of time to fill out the application. No one wants the refinerys in "THEIR" backyard.

He makes plenty of money from other sources. I don't see why he would put himself on the payroll. There's probably more to this that it seems. He got practically pennies from this (compared to his overall fortune), and if he did it just for the money, obviously, it'd cost him far more in the long run than he'd gain from the money.

That's completely inane.

no more so than her post...

I simply took her post and made it similar to the argument against Edwards.

He started a foundation to help alleviate poverty and then took money from it to support his staff, himself and his campaign. Just how much poverty did he alleviate with this foundation?
