Depends on the state!Here all welfare were pushed off,or pushed onto Social Security Disability.
There is Aid to Dependent Children.
But for adults that don't qualify for Social Security Disability,they receive Food Stamps and Medicaid,no cash!

No, I was taught and practice personal responsibility.
That's $254/month (average) for every household using it that other households that don't demand someone else fund their meals have to pay on behalf of a leech.
Many of those households have children that also get free breakfast and lunch at school in addition to the funding from food stamps.
Since you admit SNAP is no way to live, why do so many continue to do nothing to get off of it?

I've never tried to live on Government scraps; neither should anyone else. We can do much better for ourselves. But first, we must get educated, we must not make stupid choices like getting pregnant in high school and take drugs.
Food stamps were never intended to help someone live on them, but rather, supplement that which they already do for themselves.

That's the problem with having programs like that. People start trying to use it for something it wasn't designed to do. The key word that they all miss is SUPPLEMENTAL.
It wasn't designed to live on just like minimum wage wasn't designed to live on. The problem is when people try to use it for something it wasn't supposed to do and they can't, they demand it be increased to do something beyond it's intended purpose.
