The Constitution of the United States specifically gives the President authority to re-establish law and order and to put down insurrections. The State of Oregon agreed to this when they joined the Union. The City of Portland is part of the State of Oregon.
See articles II and IV of the Constitution of the United States.

The federal government also has the inherent right to defend itself and it's property. No State can take that away. No government can take that away. They have the right to defend against attacks on the federal courthouse in Portland.

Minimum wage laws are price controls on wages. It is the government telling you how much you have to pay for wages. That's fascism. Price controls never work. You have it completely backwards.

Agreed on democracy within the State. As a state, each one voted whether or not to secede and whether or not to join the CSA. Not all states withdrew at once. IIRC, Texas withdrew after Lincoln invaded Virginia.
