Republicans absent from March on Washington

Are ALL of you this fucking dumb?

The invitation, sent Aug. 8 from the Coalition for the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, appears to have been a form letter to all members of Congress, with invitees listed as “Representative” rather than by name.

do you see the difference between asking Republicans to participate and sending a generic invitation to be a member of the audience?.......there could have been 500k Republicans in the audience but we still see a thread asking why there weren't an Republicans.....because the Dems didn't want any of them to be visible.......why?....so we could have threads asking why they weren't there......

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

they should have been sent a NICER invitation?

fucking unbelieveable

LOL. There weren't 500K in attendance, let alone that many Repubs. Now it's the Dems fault they weren't featured or noticed. You can't take responsibility for anything, but always bitching about "personal responsibility". Can we say Hypocrisy, with a capital "H"?

Not one R was willing to have their picture taken at this event.

it would have meant the end of their political career

Here’s what House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor were doing instead of accepting invitations to attend the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

…Boehner was in Jackson Hole, Wyo., and had no public events scheduled, but he has been headlining GOP fundraisers all this month, so it’s a fairly safe to assume that he was raising cash at the time. Cantor, meanwhile was touring an oil field in North Dakota. The Grand Forks Herald reports:

Cantor, hosted by Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., met with energy industry and community leaders at a crew camp in Williston, toured a drilling site and other oilfield locations in the Bakken and met with North Dakota Petroleum Council members in Watford City.

circular argument in its infancy.....

What is infantile is whining about not being invited to an event where the holders of the event think you are dog shit.

Fuck republicans.

Those bastards can go to the Zimmerman tribute.

None of us will be whining about not getting an invitation.

Republicans made this racist bed ,, now lie in it.

the party as we know it as today is dead.

all that is left is the kicking and screaming at the very end

Senator Scott was not invited to speak at the event,” Greg Blair, a spokesman for the South Carolina lawmaker, said. “The senator believes today is a day to remember the extraordinary accomplishments and sacrifices of Dr. King, Congressman John Lewis, and an entire generation of black leaders. Today’s anniversary should simply serve as an opportunity to reflect upon how their actions moved our country forward in a remarkable way.”

Wouldn't it have made sense to have the first black president joined by the first black senator from South Carolina, which was a Jim Crow state when the original march on Washington took place?

thank you for giving ample evidence of why Republicans weren't there.......

/shrugs.....who set the agenda?......

Apparently the Repubs, by being responsible of, "single-handedly" pushing through the Civil Rights Act, while the Dems "floundered", remember?
If it is their legacy, then why wouldn't they be there, in support of so critical a moment in U.S. History? I'll tell you, because it "isn't" their legacy. Never was. It's a talking point they like to throw out, to suggest that they champion civil rights and that black people should be "beholden" to them. Bull crap.

No he wasn't and stop your lying. He was a last minute token throw in. he should have received his invitation the same time as Jamie Fox and Oprah and the rest received there's.

ehhhhh.....ehhhhhhh...he/she said "token".....ehhhh....................ehhhhhhh
